Georgia Defense and Other Things . . . .

I think CMR should give the offense veterans a very light load on Saturday against NT and let the young pups and HM drive most of the day. That’ll give another week to heal any lagging injuries and minimize injuries and it’ll give the guys who’ll be stepping up next year and chance to get some much needed experience on the field.

Just my thoughts for the coming weekend.

Agreed.

Need to play all starters for continuity, game type conditions and rhythm.....then get them out of there.

Well, give the DB's plenty of playing time, they need it.

Guys, believe that this will give our coaches some film to sit down and discuss with the "newbies". I say that with respect. Anyone playing football in the SEC on full scholarship, young pups especially, they are each one of 25 or so schollies each year. Limited Brotherhood. :)

Edit: Always looking around. Might take a look at this.

Discussing Georgia defense. Might want to look at the video below . . . . Some of it will look familiar to many.

Oregon some are saying is the best team in college football. Whether or not, they beat the heck out of Tennessee. Their fans say they want Alabama, might get a shot at Alabama or . . . . season is not over.

Duck defense looks an awful lot like what we are seeing from Todd Grantham. Grantham gets these young pups squared away, good incoming class in 2014, could be interesting. Grantham has said from the beginning that he likes speed. So does Oregon.

I just think this is a young defense that will improve over the course of the season. Have to depend on the offense to put up the points to get the win and our d to get a few key stops. This is kinda a make it or break it year with me for CTG. he had alot of talent last year still had games where defense couldn't stop the run, had players looking confused etc. Best man should be on the field period. Agree with LSU game buc, big test to see where georgia stands not only in the SEC, but nationally As well.

Hopefully this defense will gel together by the time we go to Atlanta. The triple option can be a tough offense to stop if players don't play their responsibilities.

College football has followed the same path for quite some time now. Rules come in that "seem" to allow the offense to gain an advantage over the defense. Takes a while, but usually the defense catches up, and at some point the same actions are started over.

Pretty simple in my thoughts . . . . polls over the years have shown that interest in college and pro football rates higher when points are scored. Those in the areas of marketing and all that surrounds putting folks in seats have a definite effect on the game and the way it is played. Personally, enjoy a good defensive game, that however puts me in the minority.

In no way is college or pro football played the way it was, and truthfully, not that long ago. Electronics alone has played a major factor in todays football games. Once upon a time we did not see headsets on every coach on the sideline. Decisions were made many/most times by what was seen on the sideline, whether right or wrong.

Sometimes I miss the "three yards and a cloud of dust".
