Injuries in the Secondary

Hey Buc, thanks for wanting to win one for me. I think in this point and time, I'd rather lose every other game that to lose to USC. It just so hard to believe how one coach has our number. Couldn't beat him at FLA, now can't beat him at USC of all places. I'm worried about all the injuries, but hoping he is using the old VD talk to make Clemsum thinks it will be a cake walk. Hard to believe, it all starts next Saturday.

Yep, yep, yep, and more yep.

Watch the film... we had some players forgetting their gap and containment responsibilities as they were
trying to make the ESPN highlight reel instead.

I think these young pups are going to be less "highlight", and more "responsibility" oriented.

Good "stuff" Wartdawg.

Wartdawg, going to go at this one more time . . . . however I reserve the right to dial it up again.

Todd Grantham's largest headache last season was having a defensive line coach and a nose guard that were not involved with the game plan that Grantham laid out. Not a doubt in my mind. If I am wrong, all any of us have to do is go to youtube and watch the games.

Yoke has been removed from Grantham . . . . now when we discuss Georgia's defense, use the phrase that President Harry Truman said for one and all to hear . . . . "The Buck Stops Here".

Now it is down to Todd Grantham's original statement when he arrived in Athens. Within a 5 hour radius of Athens there is enough talent to talk about National Championships. I agree, now it is show time, no excuses, you have been given full control of the defense, Mark Richt has said that more than one time. Don't get me wrong . . . . I come from the "old school", I take a man at his word. Nuff said. Except this . . . . there are 3 or 4 young folks within the area you laid out that will make some college defense very good. All of us know who they are, as do you.

Wow! Everyone here knows I tend to be . . . shall we say . . . a tad optimistic? Ok - I drink Red and Black Kool-Aid all day, every day. That's why I was a little shaken up to read this:

www.ajc.com/weblogs/uga-sports/2013/aug/...ogs-head-final-week/

I sure hope Chip is WRONG on this. I couldn't care less about the kicker at this point. I'm just hoping we have a LITTLE more gas in the tank in the secondary than Chip seems to indicate. We'll have to win 70-66, or something like that.

thriller, Chip Towers has taken everything that has been written by others and put it into his article. There are terms for that kind of reporting that I will leave alone at this point. He knows.

Many other media folks that have been following the Georgia Football Team and discussing what they have seen is only echoed by Towers. I don't call that reporting, call that raiding material that has been out for some time. AJC is rarely putting any material out that was first generated by them. Personally try to avoid the AJC site, reason . . . . they blow with the wind, play for the "clicks" and "First". Most serious Dawgs don't get involved with 16-20 year old chatter. My opinion.

Marc Weiszer, Seth Emerson work hard at their trade, and for the everyday read, both are head and shoulders above the AJC bunch.

Sorry, sometimes these talking heads push their BS too far.

OK, allow me this . . . . what did any of us read in the Chip Towers article that we were not aware of way before he spouted off?

Chip Towers said when pointing out Marshall Morgan . . . .
Georgia's charade about how its going to deal with his punishment is a waste of time, in my opinion.

What the hell is that statement supposed to bring forth? Chip pissed because he can't get a scoop? Like the rest of the AJC bunch, he should spend more time at his trade. Comes forth a week before the game against Clemson and has all of the answers. Had hoped that Jesse Outlar and Furman Bisher left a positive journalism trail behind them, apprently not. To wit: Chip Towers and Michael Carvell.

Buc - thanks for bringing me back to reality. You are correct. To wit:

Immediately after I posted my paranoid comment here, I went to another site and read up a little closer on the injury status. I had not appreciated that Fluker simply came down with a bug, and is otherwise 100%. Both corners are 100%. That leaves "Freak Show" Tray Matthews, who has beaten out veterans because he's an athletic stud at the other safety - and we're just fine. VERY experienced Connor Norman is BACKING HIM UP.

Buc is the voice of reason.
