Very good question, and very good discussion. Allow me this comment and a few sentences to make my point.

Many on here have military background. You know what it is like to be part of a special group. A group pulls in the ranks. A group that would not allow anything to keep them from accomplishing a goal. They would follow a command to walk through hell if that is what it takes to get it done. Where does this attitude of "at all cost" start? At the very top with our leaders. Alabama has that mentality.

A couple years ago I would have said CMR was that leader. Not so much about Damon Evans. Somewhere along the line, CMR softened and his hand slipped off the wheel. It took McGarity to give him his focus back. I now believe I have seen the fire return to CMR. I still sometimes think he tries to be a friend rather than an authority figure. He does need to, at times, be a father figure but with tough love.

Can Saban be beat? Without a doubt. Is UGA the program to do it? With the right leaders and the right mind set. I think we may now have it.

Go Dawgs! GATA!

TN Dawg, not just a good post, a damn good post, with a lot of thought. Damn, just damn. Good stuff.

Also see a lot of names listed as members. This close to the season opening, would think that some of the new folks would have something to add. This is Red and Black, Georgia football on this board.

Sorry . . . .

Chose one name on the Alabama recruiting list to bring up.

7. Ronnie Clark, S/LB, 6-4, 210

The state of Alabama's most versatile athlete is being recruited by both Alabama and Auburn as a safety and has become the focus of the most heated in-state recruiting battle of 2014 so far. Clark, who has the size to play in the front seven with the athleticism and speed to play in the secondary, is looking to take one more visit to each school before making his decision in the next few weeks.

Sound like a Georgia Football Player that won't be playing in the Clemson game?

There was a huge battle between Georgia and Alabama, not to mention Florida over JHC's signature. Seems Georgia and Alabama want the "same types", "body types" for certain positions. We just need to win more of these battles and SEC Football will be even more interesting. My opinion.

I can guarantee you that no one dislikes the gap that exists between the UA program and UGA program more than me,but, over the years they've wanted it more and have taken care of business when it counts,on the field. A lot of whats happening at UA now is because of reputation, as it concerns recruiting, but, as a lot of folks have already said here, Saban is a master at putting the pieces together and no one should make the mistake of overlooking this most important fact. You can prepare for the team, but the mind behind the gameplan is another story and right now Saban is the best. Sure urban believes he's all that, and wants to best Saban, I don't think he's got it in him to do it and he's going to be mighty disappointed for years to come. Is Saban the best at what he does? Right now yes! Are there coaches that are his equal? Probably! Who are they? I think Kevin Sumlin and Hugh Freeze are two coaches with unlimited potential and have an opportunity to take their teams to places they've only thought about for years. CMR is a good coach, but, for all intents and purposes might be just a little too easy on some who need the hammer dropped to get their attention. Hopefully that will change so that we'll be able to include him as an equal to the master coach. As always, GO DAWGS! GATA

growl, think right now that Kevlin Sumlin has his hands full. Going to interesting watching him and how he and the university handle this "current" and "on going" situation.

Agree with you that Sumlin is a good coach, his players lay it out for him. They did that at his previous stop. Man can motivate. Lots of young men across the nation looking at the TAM program.

I have tried to stay away from most of the Johnny Football stuff, but I do have this thought . . . . NCAA will back off, they are learning a lesson with all of the corruption that did exist in Miami . . . . Emmert and his group failed to do their job, properly.

Emmert is good at handling things like a single jersey being sold and a young man that through no fault of his own could not get foreign "things" out of his body. Put there by what appeared to be an imcompetent doctor.

Speaking of incompetent, new way to spell the word . . . . EMMERT. I said that.

My opinion is that the difference between the two programs is that Saban is a Natural Born Winner with the intensity that it takes to get everyone around him on board to win. The fact is that your only as good as your leader...

Now with that being said, CMR is a very good leader but he has lacked that fire and intensity that Saban was born with. BUT, somewhere in SEC CG a switch flipped with CMR and the fire was lit!!! Recall the SEC CG post interview with him and you will see what I'm talking about. And it now shows with how much more our coaching staff and players are focused on this season. Those little injuries that we are having right now on D is because these kids are hungry and CMR has everyone believing that this is the year that UGA wins a NC!!!!

I think that SEC CG was the changing point for CMR as far as having the intensity that you need as a leader to lead your team to a National Championship! He has always been a great guy and good leader and he has always been well respected but I honestly believe that now he is a different type of leader and that's what we have always needed. The talent is always their year after year, BUT like I said your only as good as your leader... Not trying to take anything away from CMR as he is a great man with high standards and even higher morale's!!! All I'm trying to say is that he now has that intensity that it takes to get your squad prepared every Saturday to win!

GO DAWGS

Allow me to toss my feelings out to the board on the 10 players that Alabama is after, and the players I think we will get or come close to getting from that list.

I believe that Lorenzo Carter will play between the Hedges. That makes me think there is a strong chance that Raekwon McMillan could sign on. If McMillan does not sign with us, I sincerely hope that he does not land in Urban Meyer's basket. Hopefully he will see through Urban before signing day.

Another player that I really like is Rashaan Evans, believe that Todd Grantham and the coaches on the defensive side will get Evans to come on board. That would be very special. Grantham has "plans" for Rashaan.

Elisha Shaw I do believe will sign with Georgia. Bad man.

Keyon Brown, get excited, he is all that. One of the pieces of film that I have scoped out, like the video and message it brings. Take five minutes and watch an athlete at work. Much speed and carries an attitude.

Think Buc is crazy . . . . you are probably right. One thing for sure, I am putting it out here for everyone that visits this board to see. Not one of those that likes to say . . . . I knew this or that . . . . after the fact.

That irritates me. Like DawgnLA said a long time back . . . . Like sticking your hand in a rattlesnake hole. By the way, where the heck are you?

I do believe the effort that has been made by our coaches this recruiting year has opened some doors that were previously closed. Much like getting players from Lowndes High School. Previously owned by FSU and others.

Thoughts . . . . I have thick skin, but willing to tangle. :)
