Urban Meyer has a "few" (very few) things to say to Tim May representing the home town paper. One paragraph in the article below really had me and some of the folks I know shaking our heads. Yep, in disbelief.
Urban Meyer, saying Hernandez was held to the same drug testing policies as others on the team . . . . We understand that Urban, go a bit deeper and tell the truth about the "value" of the drug testing policies under your watch, and what you did to "help" these young men along the path of life. I call BS.
Just now getting an email from a "friend" telling you that you are being accused of being an enabler. First time you have heard any mention of this right, email received from a "friend". Your name has been linked with Hernandez by multiple media outlets from the get go, and you are going to mention an "email from a friend".
“I just received an email from a friend where there is an accusation of multiple failed drug tests by Hernandez covered up by University of Florida or the coaching staff. This is absolutely not true,” Meyer texted. “Hernandez was held to the same drug testing policy as every other player.”
Question is how many failed drug tests were there by Hernandez and others under your watch that never surfaced when you were running the team.
Sure is a hard hitting article by Tim May of The Columbus Dispatch. Going to be interesting to see what is said once the jury is drawn and the "enablers" are put on the stand.
Maybe it is a good thing Urban "Liar" Meyer is keeping his mouth shut at this point in time. Trial starts, the reporting will not be done solely by those that are "serving" under the "New Urban Meyer Regime".
Maybe when you were the head coach at Florida, you would have been better served at this point if Florida had the same drug policies that Georgia has and abides by. Just saying Commissioner Slive.

Another article on the Hernandez arrest and some interesting information on Urban Meyer.
One paragraph in the article makes a case for arrests made against 41 of Urban's players that were in uniform for the 2008 Championship Game.
But 41 of his players among the 121 on the 2008 national championship team have been arrested. You have to wonder about the culture he was enabling while there, and the new culture which is apparently different ever since.
Expect to see the M&M group try and stop this Urban Meyer talk soon. They will certainly join in with Urban, an employee prior to taking the job at Ohio State. Almost everyone outside of the SEC is actually pulling for Ohio State to load up and put a stop to this madness that the SEC is causing by winning National Championships.

Buc, our local paper had the same basic article in it this morning. I also noticed something subtle at the end of the article that REALLY stood out to me. Don't know if it was in your local article as well.
It was about in 2007 when Hernandez, 17 at the time, refused to pay for 2 drinks at the Swamp Restaurant and when the bouncer stopped him, Hernandez punched him in the ear and broke his ear drum.
Three hours after the fight was a police interview. HERE'S the thing that caught my eye.........."the lead investigator stated NO charges would be filed for UNDERAGE drinking BUT it would be included in the report so that the coaches could take INTERNAL disciplinary action."
NOW......what do you think would have happened in Athens???????......they would have arrested him and thrown him in jail. RESULTS??????.....1-2 game suspension by CMR.
My POINT????? Tired of places like UF, BAMA etc that have a police force that keep things "quiet", NO arrests, no suspensions.......JUST handled INTERNALLY.....uh, coach, come get "your boy" quickly before we HAVE to arrest him.
No doubt in my mind the Athens police would have arrested him leaving CMR no choice......

wlayton, folks like Urban Meyer are always going to shield themselves, just another part of a program like his. Read the following in the article, also saw the attorneys name in another article, will try to find his name. Anyway, Urban made the call to the attorney and a miracle happened . . . .
Tim Tebow attempted to break up the clash. Acccording to police reports, Tebow and Hernandez called Urban Meyer immediately. Soon after, a noted area defense attorney known for making cases like this go away, apparently did what he does best.
So Urban Meyer makes his way to Ohio State. One of the main reasons is to "clean up" the untidiness of the previous group, which included the President of the University and the Head Football Coach. Athletic Director "did not know" anything was going on, still holding his position.
See where several preseason poll folks have Ohio State listed as #2 in the Nation. With their cushy schedule, will be a sho-in to play for the National Championship.
You along with a few others on this board have mentioned leveling the playing field. Ball is in Slive's court, don't expect him to move too hard to have Alabama, LSU and others play up to the "standards" that, as you say, are enforced in Athens. While some of our athletes (especially football players) have stepped out of line on more than one occasion . . . . Amazing how much national attention we get, then we see this mess with Urban Meyer, and if one believes the national reports, Urban Meyer is a "Saint".
Some of the old Southern Boys like myself once upon a time labeled the "Urban Meyers type . . . . Carpet Baggers". Grabbed everything he/they could while in the South, then high tailed it.

Quote from Urban the Liar, regarding that fine young man, Aaron Hernandez:
A: Relatively speaking, he had very minor stuff. He was questioned about being a witness (to a shooting), and he had an argument in a restaurant (in which Hernandez allegedly struck an employee in an argument over an unpaid bill), and he was suspended one game (reportedly for a failed marijuana test). Other than that, he was three years a good player. That was it.
Honestly folks - how many times have you "been a witness to a shooting"? Does this sound like a college kid just out having fun?
According to the kid himself, he had multiple failed drug tests while at UF. I believe HERNANDEZ on that one.
UM is the sleaziest of the dirt balls out there. Hopefully he'll get tripped up with OSU at some point.
