Why have I been sort of quiet this year? I can tell you the answer to that, and I can give you my worthless and probably incorrect theory about why many are not posting.
As for me - my job has gotten both easier and tougher this year. Easier, because I'm becoming more of an expert at what I do. Tougher, because with that expertise comes MORE TO DO.
My horrible theory about why others aren't posting? Well, this has a little to do with my slow down as well.
Not to stir the hornets nest (notice I didn't say yellow jackets), but I think one reason is because we went 12-2 last year. Certainly many feel that there is much that needs to be "fixed" about this ball team (not me - I'm pretty optimistic), but it's much harder to complain after your team just won a bowl game and went 12-2 than it is to complain after a 6-7 season and losing to Central Florida in the Independence bowl. At least in recent times on this board, less to complain about means less to post, seemingly - though some have certainly done an admirable job.
The Dawgs have also kept out of trouble this spring - some silence is a GOOD thing. We also don't have a huge number of injuries to nurse.
I'm excited about this fall because our offense should be on fire. Michael Bennett will be back, along with Malcolm Mitchell, Rantavius Wooten, Gurshall, Justin Scott-Wesley - the list seems endless. I just don't have a lot of knits to pick right now.
I'm sure there are others that see tons of negative things to complain about - but 12-2 with a bowl win and finally a schedule that could hardly be referred to as "cupcake" (heck, even one of our "cupcakes" is Appalachian State - ask Big Blue fans how that worked out for THEM - at home).
So there it is, my worthless theory.
