Went back and read Buc's original post for the third time. Sometimes it takes things a while to swim around in my head before i can fully understand them. And for the life of me I can't understand the new SEC TV deal.
I can only see attendance dropping off severely in Sanford Stadium. This is a bad deal for any season ticket holder who does not live within about two hours from Athens.
Why in the world would I, TN Dawg, want to send $1,000 to the GEEF, pay $960 for tickets, $1,440 in gas ($60/tank, 4 tanks round trip, 6 games), and $1,800 in food & beverages for a football season? A total of about $5,200, which might be a low estimate, when I can possibly watch every game on TV from the La-Z-Boy.
I have had season tickets since I graduated in '87. My parents had season tickets since '72. I am seriously thinking of giving them up. If it weren't for the kids asking to go to games, I would have given them up this year.
Am I missing something? For now I remain TN Dawg.
Go Dawgs! Sic 'Em!
