One of the board members that I really miss is averagedawg. Some years back he was catching it from all sides living in Tennessee. Of course anyone that has had contact with averagedawg knows that he can give it back two fold.
Really glad that you guys are busy, know that I miss your threads and posts, but have to make that money, comes a time when that really helps in the retirement years. Voice of experience.
Read everything I can get my hands on and work the internet real hard also. Enjoyed what Mark Richt had to say in his presser. Totally different now than a short time back. Not making a lot of excuses, truly believe he understands the "re-loading" process now. Richt is also doing some of that coach speak that all of us read and listen to when he speaks these days, and I like it.
"I thought this was an outstanding scrimmage," said Bulldog head coach Mark Richt. "The guys were really having fun and competing well the whole day. We are still being undisciplined with some extracurricular stuff after the play ends. But I'd rather our guys have a heartbeat than have to get them going.
We are still turning the ball over too much, but I was pretty pleased about today."
Had to catch himself in the above paragraph, does not want the young pups to get the "big head". Actually it is ok, one thing we know . . . . Bulldogs and Bulldawgs have big heads. The right of passage. Can I get an amen.
AllDawgs5 sometime back mentioned Conley being a force and someone he really likes for 2013. Had that little oopsy in Atlanta, has more than made up for it since then. Actually I don't blame him, Conley is about effort mixed with talent, young pup has both. Richt also made mention of the little dump pass over the middle in Orlando. One of the points that Mark Richt made was the speed of Conley after catch. Was there, Conley was showing blazing speed. One of those players that play really fast in pads. Not the same for all.
More Mark Richt . . . . he is doing his best to control his feelings, easy to read if watched closely enough. Richt loves the hitting that has been going on this Spring.
This defense that was supposed to be re-building is playing on an even keel with the offense. An offense that much of the media say will be outstanding this 2013 Season. Saturday could prove interesting, but I believe that the opener against Clemson is going to show the fruits of labor that have been working in Athens for the past three years. Have often read over the years that it takes a new coaching staff 3 to 4 years to come together. Brothers and Sisters, believe we have made the grade.
Duck, think about you often. Right now I am guessing that you are looking for "patience". I understand that, believe it or not. Every year or many years we are told and in our own minds think that we have the necessary pieces. Duck I believe that we have had the players over the years under Mark Richt. This is the first time that I have been this confident, and the reason for that is we have finally put the right coaching staff together. Had to cull several, but the last few years I think we have tightened down the hatches, don't see us having a lot of down times.
One more thing . . . . there are some serious young pups heading to campus this fall. They come with the intentions of playing football, not sitting. I like it.
Go Dawgs, Coach'em up, this edition has unlimited possibilities.
