Stop The Run . . . .

Stop The Run . . . . was created by Buc
As we move forward into the 2013 Season, one thing that sticks out to me is . . . . Todd Grantham is hell bent to stop the run this season. The latest move that he made moving Taylor from nose to defensive end certainly points in that direction. Most of the players talking about the depth on the defense, message does seem to be . . . . Stop The Run.

Early in Ogletree's days on campus, Grantham made a suggestion along the same lines as the one he made to Taylor. Think you need to be moved to another position. Ogletree did well, hope Taylor brings results. He will.

It is easy some years to get "psyched up", comes with loving college football. There is something about the "hype/talk" thus far that has me really looking forward to our 2013 defense. Looking at the changes in coaching and players, could be awfully good or . . . . disappointing.

Some have suggested that this group needs some time to come together, can't disagree with that. Just "stuff" that I think about. :)

Seems recently I find myself bringing up the issue of coaching in Athens a lot. If it has been said once on this board that UGA has always had talent, it has probably been said who knows how many times.

Going to show two reasons below that I think Mark Richt came within a whisker of losing his job.

Watching both of the interviews, cannot believe what Jancek said in his. To sum up what he said in my way of thinking, won't be too long before he will be looking for another job. At Georgia he was without a doubt a zero.

Willie, my how so many of us know about Willie. He leaves a trail at every university that he takes on coaching defensive backs. Of course Willie was our defensive coordinator, that falls on Mark Richt. Sorry, this is where I am at. Mark Richt started to become a head coach when he released the two mentioned below. Takes some longer than others.

In the tape below Willie was quick to show love to Butch Jones, said the same thing when he was with Oklahoma. Not to mention how he raved about Auburn. Wonder where the next stop will be. Tennessee supporters don't have a long fuse.

If I am to have serious surgery, I want the best surgeon available. If I want a winning football team, a team with resources, the same applies. Just check out what Alabama did. Rings true, eh.

The best of Easter to all who believe . . . . and those that don't. :)

Butch Jones definitely made a dumb move by hiring those two.

I've been reading articles where veteran players have said there has been more chippiness at camp compared to last year, which is a good thing imo.

Dawgs95, what the chippiness means to me is that there are players on campus that "want" to play. Only way that is going to happen is catching the position coaches eye.

We have a group of coaches on campus now that have spent some trial and error time together. Get to know one another and produce the best product available. One new coach being Chris Wilson, however with his background in football overall including the SEC, he will get the job done and become one of the boys. Stability, right hand knows what the left hand is doing.

Even though we have won a lot of games under Mark Richt, I place much of the winning record on the players, not the coaches. (Some of the coaches). Say it again, talent has never gone lacking in Athens . . . . referring to players, not coaches.

Dawgs95, I sometimes think that a new coach tends to pull those along with him that understand he is the leader. I just erased a couple hours of watching video about coaching that I was going to post, most of it concerned the SEC and more to the subject, Willie Martinez.

In the first link below, after Willie finishes his "canned" coach speak, read the posts to the video. That is where the true story lies.

Do I have a problem with WM? Yes I do. When he refused to participate in a bowl game after being notified that he was leaving, WM stuck those lips out and moved on. Mark Richt is still the reason that Willie Martinez can find a job. If we flip that same coin, Willie could give a hoot less about Mark Richt, even though he was put in a position to make a name for himself. All of us know that Willie made a name for himself. King of the kiss ass.

Coached at:
Georgia
Oklahoma
Auburn
Tennessee (now)

Released by the first three, hope he keeps his job at Tennessee, for obvious reasons. WM does have a track record . . . . keeps running and looking for a new job. Also do not like WM's backhanded slaps at SOD. This dude is a loser.

AM, you have to be the happiest quarterback in the SEC when it comes to facing a "Willie Defensive Backfield".

Tennessee going back to the 4/3. They should watch Grantham's 3 whatever and learn.

Have to say this . . . . Tennessee fans were all up in our face once upon a time . . . . days of Willie Martinez. True Dawgs have no sympathy for what once was. See you in Knoxville Willie. October 5, 2013. Conley, and Mitchell just to name a couple. Good night Irene. ;)
