It has been mentioned before that leadership is one thing that every team needs. Might say, have to have. Proof of that is in the link below. What our team did up until Shawn Williams finally had a belly full, and did not care whose toes he stepped on, then the record after he broke the "silence code".
Whether or not we agree with all of the media time that Ray Lewis has been getting, there is no doubting the fact that he is a leader, has been forever. Think we know the results of what his leadership meant to the Baltimore Ravens. While he is not the player he once was, he was still the leader and the team responded to his leadership.
For one, I think we will see that same type of leadership from Tray Matthews. I have watched and posted about his play on the field, and he also backs his athletic talents by taking care of the book work. If Tray stays healthy, we have a newcomer that is cut from the same cloth as Shawn Williams.
Pleases me, played the game, coached the game, understand leadership and the value to a group of interested young men. This defense (2013) will be worth the price of admission.
One other note, really liked what Greg McGarity had to say in the link. More and more I am understanding one of the main parts of our "looking forward".
Happy Valentine's Day to all . . . .
