That's true, but I'm not speculating on what might have happened... just looking at
what did happen.
Had they passed more there would have been more clock stoppages and we might have had
more time on the clock at the end of the game. We can make theoretical arguments back
and forth all day long.
I don't think I'm being harsh here.... I think Grantham and CMR would both say the
team could have played much better D against the run this season.

Wart, I don't think you are being too harsh. I agree. D could have played much better at times this year.

We are all on the same page here....I know the reality...I'm the one that posted that BAMA is just better. It's my nature (and business) to think about "what if's"......

Guys, Husker fan here. Sorry to bump an old thread but I have a question for you Bulldog fans.
How much do you think the "hangover effect" of not getting those final five yards in the SEC Championship Game affect the Bulldogs against Nebraska? As in, do you guys feel that there was some letdown on Georgia's part that allowed Nebraska to hang with you guys for a while, or did you come away from that game thinking Nebraska is pretty good?
I'm asking because on a Husker message board I frequent there's a discussion about the reasons teams lose and this game has come up. My thought is that Georgia wasn't as interested in a meaningless Capitol One Bowl as Nebraska was, since the consequences of your loss meant no National Championship try while we merely missed out on a conference championship. We had something to prove as well after getting embarrassed by Wisconsin.

Welcome knappic! Been to Kearney, NE on business several tims, even drivn thrugh Lincoln once & saw the stadium looming over the plains. I must say, Cornhuskers fans are DEFINITELY some of the nicest & most passionate cfb fans I'he ever met. I have always liked NU as far back ad the old Big 8 days & I like them even more after meeting more of their fans. Love Tom O. especially his call to go for 2 against the U even though a tie would have given him the Natty.
As for your questions, yes & yes. I do think the Dawgs weren't as focused & dedicated in practice & game planning for the Cap. 1 bowl as they would've been for the BCS NC game. I would have a hard time believing anybody who said otherwise as this only seems natural after a to hard fought, emotional loss in a game with such high stakes.
That said, I also felt that NU was a much better team than I expected going in, especially offensively. I mean, yall had us on the ropes in the 1st half but didn't capitalize on all of your opportunities. After halftime, our team came alive & your defense had no answers. I was impressed by Nebraska at the end of the game for sure although your very highly rated defense, especially pass defense didn't perform to the best of their ability & I reckon Coach Bo would agree.
