It would be nice to have a leader on the coaching staff as well.

Tell you what burns my ass more than a knee high bonfire is the fact that in the time mr has been at UGA the uf folks have had 4 different hc's and we've won 2 games in that time, plus the fact that sc was so insignificant to me that I can't even remember the hc's name before ball sack took over. Talk about needing a change.

Quote from MR

“I wouldn’t say it was a flat performance,”

Please man... I would have a bit more respect if he came out and said this:

"We showed up not ready to play and when you do that against a team like South Carolina and
coach Spurrier, you are going to get your tail whipped. It's our fault as coaches that our
young men were not prepared as they should have been, and I will guarantee you it will not
happen again"

I mean come on.... you say that and you are not throwing your kids under the bus, but you are also not living in denial. This sticking your head in the sand crap is for the birds.

He then goes on "I would just say that South Carolina physically whipped us". Now that is just about throwing the kids under the bus.. it's certainly putting more on the players by saying they can't match up physically and skill-wise than it is trying to shoulder the blame for the kids and admit the team was unprepared (and it's the coaches job to get them ready)

I do not see us recovering. This is not a team whose nature it is to pick itself up, make improvements mid-season, and go down swinging. This is a team with no heart that is just going through the motions and doesn't really care or stand for anything.

We will lose to Florida and at least one more game that we shouldn't on paper...possibly a Georgia Tech game that we mess around with and have a less-than-touchdown lead way later in the game than what we should. We will also lose our bowl game, as seems to be the trend these last couple years.

I really don't see this team doing any better than 9-4 or 10-3 at best.

The more I read, the closer I look, the less I like what is being said.

Talk about the "party line" being used again. This is exactly the way the Bowden dynasty imploded. There was great concern that Bobby Bowden leaving FSU would first off . . . kill recruiting. He was the man that took the girls school to prominence, that is a fact.

Comes a time when new ideas, and totally different players arrive on the scene. There are those that can change with the times, there are those that cannot.

growl posted the following and it carries a lot of weight with me.

Might also be mentioned South Carolina's changing of coaches on the defensive side of the ball.

Appears that Spurrier and Saban understand the changes that need to be made from a leaders standpoint. Both of these teams will be back next season with talent galore. Last time I took a body count, we are losing a lot of players to the NFL.

Hard for me to grasp what is going on in Athens, especially from the leadership. I still do not doubt for a minute that the talent is there, that however seems to be changing more and more each year.

What exactly does UGA have to offer a young man that wants to play football and get a good education? If I answered my question, could make a list a mile long . . . . only thing missing would be what has happened to turn this program back to where it was in the 90's. I can answer that but most at this point understand or know the answer. Water seeks its level, apparently we have reached our level with this group of coaches. Damn a bunch of excuses. Wait until next year, BS. Going back to the basics.

Last but not least . . . . Richt said in the off season that he was going to be involved with the Special Teams. OK. Man up, what was changed or improved in the off season? Appears to be just another piece of the "party line".

Mark Richt what happened in Columbia, South Carolina will never leave the thoughts of many on this and other boards, sadlerdawg explained that to us on this board. Don't you understand that the "party line" will only carry you so far. Took a while but Bobby Bowden found out the hard way. I realize that we are not in the "arena", you told us that, but the same thing can and should be said about you. That was your team, and as far as I am concerned they entered the battle without a leader, you were in the "arena". Reminds me of UCF, Michigan State and any other rated football team from the SEC or elsewhere. You are again showing the Dawg Nation just how stubborn you can be. Time for McGarity to step up.

Buc, I get the feeling the more I think about it that mr is thumbing his nose, and generally saying I don't have to account to you Fans and Alumni I'm above that. I tell you guys and gals the more I think about it the more I realize that we have been had. I love the Dawgs but I am afraid I'm watching them go down the drain and I don't like it one bit.
