Bulldog Moments

One great memory I had with my Dad was the UGA/UF game in 1966 when Spurrier won the Heisman that year. George Patton and Bill Stanfield just about killed Spurrier and half their team that day. I remember Stanfield hitting a UF player near the sideline and I thought he had killed him. The game was stopped for a few minutes. They couldn't get the guy back up to leave the edge of the field so the game could resume, so 3 guys just reached over, grabbed his uniform and literally DRUG him off the field while in the laid out position so the game could start back up. Those 2 DT's wreaked havoc that day for a big win over SOS (he needed that sos alright).
