Yeah.. well the administration keeps trotting out the same old redundant coaching staff, so
it's to be expected.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

It’s as simple as this. USC always sets their sights high against UGA and Clemson. It’s their rivalry games. The team shows up for those 2 games prepared to win unlike UGA. Their coach prepares a game plan to WIN unlike Coach Mark Richt and our infamous offensive coordinator Mike Bozo with the same game plan and play book game after game. Nothing is different so why would anyone expect a different outcome. USC will probably continue to win against UGA for years to come unless there are changes. Not to mention how this will affect recruiting.

Richt relying on another team to fail to reach the goal of making it to the SEC Championship says it all. Hell, the way UGA played Saturday, Florida will kill them so it’s a unattainable goal to begin with.

UGA has as much talent as any team in the country. More in most cases and definitely more than USC in my opinion. The only difference? Coaching. Let there be no doubt, Richt is as good as a man as anyone will ever meet. However, as a coach in the toughest conference in the country, he’s far too conservative and reached his potential years ago. The issue is whether or not Dawg fans and the powers-at-be within the university can accept mediocrity.

As always, GO DAWGS!

Buc, I like the name Kirby Smart, but I thought he might have been promised the Bama job when the man retires. Need to have someone from the southeast that knows the high school
coaches in Ga, SC Fla, Alabama, Tenn, etc as well as having a national reputation. The guy from Bosie State is a great coach, but doesn't connect with the deep south. We need a leader like WB or VD. I have never been sold on MR or his coaching staff, that's one reason I haven't posted much lately. Same old, same old, no change. I know that KS can recruit with the best of them. Let's get ready for old Kentucky in 2 weeks. Just hope we don't loose. As akways GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!

DawgDoc, with McGarity back in the fold, who would have thought. He had a really good setup in Gainesville. For sure if anything had moved Jeremy Foley out of his seat, McGarity would have taken that job. Foley did not want to see McGarity leave the premises. The lure of Athens could not be shoved aside for McGarity.

Think that the above also applies to Kirby. Had Saban not had a fireside chat with Kirby, I believe that he would have taken the Defensive Coordinators job in Athens. Big difference now, or possibly soon, difference in what Saban said to Kirby. Don't make a lateral move. Head Coach at UGA would not be a lateral move, and truthfully, think that Saban would give Kirby his blessings.

What a great chance of rebuilding UGA football, two grads from the University of Georgia on the same ticket. McGarity and Smart. I would double down on that.

DawgDoc, not only can KS recruit with the best of them as you say, he understands players and defensive football. Would love to have Kirby Smart as Head Coach going head to head with Muschamp. Like that match up of coaches more than the present setup.

Yes, I know you are an "old fart", :) nice to have you back whether we are on the same page or not.

I'm not big on speaking for everybody, but I'm going to do it here. We don't hate Mark Richt. In fact, I'd bet that many of us would like to have him as a neighbor or friend. And, if we're honest, it would be difficult to say that he has not been good for UGA. However, it's time to move from good to great, and that won't happen under Mark Richt.

The same goes for the players. We don't hate them, but we surely aren't ready to forgive play that falls many layers below their abilities. The thing is, for both the players and coaches, they knew this was the stage, the deal, when they signed on the dotted line. We have high expectations.
