How would you beat South Carolina?

Imo.....first of all keep it simple, don't out think yourselves.

1. Stop Lattimore.....period.
2. Keep doing what you have been doing on offense......keep great BALANCE. Against great D's you have to establish the run, that way the play action ACTUALLY will work for Bobo (and has been working). Don't change a thing on offense.
3. Make a freakin extra point......I'm scared to death a missed extra point is going to cost us a huge game (and possibly a trip to Atlanta).

That's simple enough for me.

Like it WLayton. Agree with you on the balance, if you look at our total plays and yardage for the year it is scary...

It's amazing what good running backs do to play calling, and view of a coach. ESPN gave Bobo a helmet sticker this week.

The XP this is getting stupid...

Here's the best plan ever....

We beat SC by scoring more points than them.

The end.

All the rest of this stuff I come up with is just common sense.. keep Lattimore quiet.. make them one dimensional while we remain balanced, don't make special teams, special ed, no turnovers...etc etc. Football 101

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Many years ago, and yes I am qualified to make the following statement . . . .:)

Green Bay Packers had a head coach that would run a particular play as many times as it took for the defense to stop his team from gaining yardage. Pulling guards that had a nasty disposition and loved to "pancake" linebackers that chose to get in the way. Running backs like Jim Taylor would make it a point to put his cleats into the downed linbackers chest or backside, and I might add, with a smile on his face.

Vince Lombardi was the head coach, which I am sure most of you knew.

I like what I see from Will Friend's "pulling guards". They seem to have captured that "nasty" disposition that is feared by many linebackers. Right behind that guard is #3 coming down the tracks, and I know he would put his cleats in places to make linebackers think twice about the next play. Also have a walk on fullback that is truly nasty and understands blocking 101.

FWIW, when you get the "Yips", take the break out of the ball!

Or, shorten your stroke and make sure to accelerate through the ball, don't "quit" on it.

What about putting RS at full back with his experience, he'd be the better blocker or pass rush protector. I think he is 6/2 and 240 to 250 lbs, so he may be able to stop Clownley from sacking AM.

Believe Buc is right that our walk-on FB, Hall, is mean and nasty.....GREAT blocker. Like RS but can't criticize Hall's performances at all....he's a brutal lead blocker.
