Sad what a waste

They upside is we are not into the season and counting on him.

This will make for an interesting August.

Makes me wonder how can you be smart enough to get the grades and then come up with

this. Ya can't fix stupid!

Go Dawgs!

He was given the opportunity to make a great life for himself and blew it...

Hopefully he can still get his head back on his shoulders and not completely destroy his entire life.

I just hate to see a young person implode and keep themselves from great opportunities.

That's fine and I don't want to see anyone destroy their life, but all I can say right
now is I hope he gets his stuff together as far away from Athens Georgia as possible.
I'm sick of these poxes upon our football program. With every glimmer of sunshine we
see, three rain clouds slip up from behind.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

yankeedawg1 you had mentioned a short time back that all seemed to be quiet in Athens.

Read on another board one poster had mentioned football players from Columbus, Georgia, wanting UGA to stay away from Carver . . . . I say BS.

While we have not had the best results with many of our recruits from Middle Georgia, one young man from that area stands tall in the way he represents his home and UGA. Have mentioned a couple of times before that Jarvis Jones supposedly slammed IC against the lockers trying to get his attention.

Started to comment to the poster on the other board that one bad apple does not necessarily ruin the entire barrel. Where would our defense be without a leader such as Jarvis Jones from Carver in Columbus, Georgia? Just a thought. . . .

I'm just hoping that none of the other four in the car were Dawgs also. That... would be a real mess. I dont know about the rest of you, but, this is getting old real quick, and like woodstockdawg said the troubles just seem to find Crowell.

The sun shines on a different Dawg every day

Last year while I was at a hunting camp in central Georgia, I left early to go watch the Kentucky game. An old timer I hunt with laughed at me and scolded me for leaving camp "to go watch a bunch of hoodlums pushing a cured piece of leather across 100 yards of painted grass". He was born about 180 years too late - should have been a trapper in the pacific northwest, and looks and sounds JUST LIKE ONE.

He went on to point out to me that if I'm ever out on the town and happen to see any of those "fine young men who push that cured leather around", that I better have my Colt Python on my hip. He said that those "fine young men" are trouble, and that I should be in a position to defend myself, and maybe even return fire. I laughed at him and waved . . .

You know what? This has me thinking about his words all over again.

IC, you had some flashes of greatness last year. You also had flashes of stupidity and punk-itude. We want the former, but not if it comes with the latter. Good bye and good riddance. Maybe South Carolina or 'Bama will want you.

It really is sad. It may be better for someone like him to go across the country so his Columbus friends can't come see him and bring him down. Jasper Sanks sydrome. Columbus, GA really is a tar pit of poverty. Whole lotta stupid down there. I'm interested to see who the people were in the car with him. I have a good idea though.

This article from last year came to mind. Should have listened to Jasper. blogs.ajc.com/uga-sports-blog/2011/09/01...-crowell-is-feeling/

“I know what he had to go through coming from Columbus, Ga. There’s a lifestyle down there in the inner city that you’re fighting. There’s a lot of demons that you’re fighting with. It’s a situation where it’s kind of hard to cut off some of these people you grew up with. But it’s for the best. It’s hard because you don’t want to be labeled as somebody who has changed or who has a big head. There are so many different elements involved that fans don’t see that he’s dealing with. And I know it because I’ve been there.”
