I have a couple of opinions on the following piece. Couple of questions and thoughts about some of the comments not only from Mark Richt but the folks asking the questions.
Look, I know that football is slow right now as do you, do feel that this board has more to offer than being mute. If all we can do is go pro and con once the season comes closer, not sure what it says about personal thoughts concerning our football team. Easy to jump on what others say, fresh thoughts mean a lot.
Throw this in for whatever reason. I think that Mark Richt has picked up on a lot of the coaching things that came when Todd Grantham came on board. We now hear about building depth, and in my opinion, that has been our down fall for some time. Just one thought, and anyone that has been here for a while knows that I have more than one thought. Pisses some off, does not really bother me, just makes me push harder. That was said because . . . . . just because.

Edit: The statement below seems to signal a change in recruiting. I say that because folks like Marshall and others coming to the Athens Campus have a great amount of talent both ON and OFF the field. Do not like some of the crap that has been going on for far too long, signing young men because of their physical talents. If we read all of the blogs out there in cyber space, many do not care, just bring the "physically talented" young men to UGA. In my opinion, that is a scar on the college "recruiting" system. If you doubt that statement, read the UGA blogs in the AJC. Some of the comments make me want to put my head in a paper sack prior to losing the contents of my stomach.
This paragraph comes from MC from the AJC. Other blogs had this, just chose Carvell, and don't have a clue why.
“We beat the bushes, making sure we’re seeing everybody we possibly can see in the state of Georgia … and, of course, in nearby states and wherever else somebody may have an interest in the University of Georgia,” Richt said. “You know, you see a lot of film and you can make judgments on film. But there’s nothing like seeing guys in person. We want to see the guy in person, and go talk to their coach, their counselors, their principals, and anybody else we can talk to … to find out more about them as a person and a student because that’s so valuable as well. Because the recruiting clock, I guess, has sped up to a degree, you want to have more peace about what you’re doing by getting to know more about these young men.”
