Never ask what else can go wrong because you will find out quickly just when you think that nothing can you will get bit in the butt.

The poo start flowing down hill shortly after my untruth of Another Quite week in Athens. was posted.

Went to hell in and hand basket way to quickly.

It is what it is, pups will get to play very early.

If there is anything good coming out of this fubar it is early and we have time to look for a rabbit's foot before the season starts.

Like what I heard in that press conference about ST's and MM at CB for the first 2 games mainly. Never heard anything about the OL though, would have thought that would have been asked early on (unless I missed it).

Thanks Buc, really enjoyed it.

Also understand that the coaches spent hours with the entire team stressing alcohol, drugs and other things that needed to be avoided, especially with these young men so full of pp and vinegar out for Spring Break.

The difference in some of the suspensions can be drawn. Smoking a blunt in a home with friends is one thing, driving and smoking a blunt is a much different circumstance. Just never know when or where the next suspension in Athens will show its ugly face.

Richt's contract extension present.
Grantham gets a two year extension, keeps coaching them up, may be gone before his extension is up.

averagedawg, you have been around UGA football for a long, long time. You understand the value of solid coaching as some on this board do.

Looking over the contracts for the two coaches, appears that Mark Richt has two years after Todd Grantham's contract is up. Trying hard not to be a negative nelly, but it appears to me that Coach Grantham plans to be a head coach "somewhere" before Mark Richt's contract expires. I saw an "extension" of Coach Grantham's contract not an offer past that.

One of my questions is this . . . . If Todd Grantham had not cast his lot with UGA, where would our team be at this point in time? Mark Richt made it very plain in his Spring Conference presser that Todd Grantham runs the defensive side of the ball, and he and Mike Bobo run the offensive side.

Another question. With the time that Coach Grantham has had and will spend in Athens under his new contract, how will that effect our recruiting on the defensive side of the ball when he leaves? All of the in-roads that he has made and will continue to make for the extension of his contract (talking about time period) will have young football players down the road looking at his accomplishments and those that made it to the NFL under his guidance. Those that progress under Coach Grantham's tutelage and the supporting cast of coaches that will line up with him will be very valuable when he departs. They will also know the State of Georgia inside out. One instance that I can post here is Jordan, ask Saban/Smart. Listen to what Jarvis Jones has to say about Grantham, did not take long for Jarvis to understand that he needed to move to the linebacker position that Coach Grantham not only suggested, demanded.

Correct me if I am wrong. I read many posts on the internet when it comes to UGA football and other colleges of course. Right now it appears that UGA is going to graduate or lose some very good football players after this season. Where does that leave us? I guess that we have the offensive side of the ball covered under Mark Richt and Mike Bobo. What about the defensive side that has turned the UGA football program around? Will we find another Coach Grantham that has become rooted in the State of Georgia and other places, but for the most part Georgia, and knows where to look and most of all, talk about where he can take these young men.

I promise those that take the time to read this post, I am tired of Smoke and Mirrors. Hope that you are in the same camp, not comfortable with what I see happening. Many won't like this, however this can be and must be said. Florida is putting together a solid football team and it will not be for a flash in the pan. The people that I know down this way say that Muschamp is making serious progress and is after UGA's butt. Are we ready after next year's graduation and early departures? Will we have the two lines that we need, O and D?

averagedawg, like you, I am worried, unless . . . . . anyone have an answer?
