Bobo's on a world tour...he started it off with a trip to New York calling plays for the Falcons and wrapped up the long weekend last night assisting Les Miles!! :)

Alabama kick coverage was great last night.
Didn't realize but discovered this today from my brother, Saban hired a NFL consultant to help his team with kicking coverage.
Name, Please.
Honey Badger looked anemic.

See where Mike Gundy from OSU is running off at the mouth . . . . again. Past 40 now and he told all of us he is still a man. Acting like a 10 year old again.

All of this talk about throwing the ball 50 times and making a more interesting game of the national championship. Funny thing happened on the way to the dance . . . . Iowa State 37, OSU 31.

Folks like this that should spend a little more time in the SEC. The same SEC that somehow with boring football keeps winning the national championship.

His words . . .

“We’d have thrown it 50 times,” he said. “You like to think Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon could have put together some touchdowns. Get the ball thrown down the field and open some things up. Try to make it exciting, and see what happens.”

What would have happened is Alabama would probably have put 40 or more points on the board, and their quarterback would not have lasted for one-half of football.

Guys like this stink up college football. All about me. Win the games you should win, then step up on the soap box.

Buc, Big 12 officials.
Probably a little shell shocked watching that defense.
Pretty decent officiating though.

averagedawg, watching the game made the comment that the officials were letting both teams play. Saw a couple of chippy plays, overall good officiating, agree with you. Wish there was more of the "let the guys play" type of officiating.

Also admired both teams players for their comments after the game. Showing respect.

Miles did however look like a whipped puppy, and he was whipped. Sooner or later good coaching has its effects. LSU folks are all over Miles today for his lack of zany play calling. Sometimes it just does not work.

Alabama is scary, and this quarterback is only going to get better. Junior next season. Below is a comment from Saban when going over the game plan in which they were defeated earlier by LSU . . .

"We felt like we should have thrown the ball more on first down," Saban said. "And we knew that we were going to have to throw the ball on first down tonight because LSU likes to put eight men in the box in that situation.

"So it was about what we needed to do to win the game. I believe in trusting and believing in the players, and I've always trusted and believed in AJ."

There is no doubt in my mind that Saban and forces looked at LSU/UGA SEC Championship Game and came away with their game plan. Several of the plays were identical to what UGA used against LSU. I did say the same thing in another thread or post this morning. Folks, even when you are the best, you can learn from the rest.

Any doubt in minds as to who the quarterback will be at LSU next season. . . . .

You already knew right . . . . Mettenburger.

So, if we make our way through our very difficult schedule next season, guess we will face a one time Dawg possibly in Atlanta. Though I have my doubts that LSU will stand toe to toe with Alabama for the right to play us.

No, I have not forgotten that our schedule has some very good football teams. Most seem to think that UGA is as solid as anyone on the East Side of the SEC. Talking heads are saying top 10 or close. Defense should be outstanding next season under Coach Grantham and his hand chosen assistants, for the most part.

So if Friend develops the offensive line, should not be a lot of excuses coming from Athens in my way of thinking. Bobo is going to turn over a new leaf and all is going to bode well for us.

We have a head coach with a lot of head coaching experience, eleven years or so, so that should work in our favor. Mark has been around the SEC a few times now, should have a good grip on what other coaches and teams like to do.

Not a big guessing game like for example when Urban Meyer came to town and introduced a new offensive system. Think that the gators are going to work from the I and Mark and company know a lot about that. No surprises.

Top ten team, wonder how that works when we are losing our offensive line to the NFL. Unknown replacements needed to fill in for Glenn and Jones. Looks like to me we need a couple more, maybe more than a couple offensive linemen. Offensive line has been a huge problem now for some time.

Top ten team, is that based on our greatly improved defense, the same defense that caught a lot of flack because they wore down against Michigan State and that last drive was unforgiveable. Never mind the missed field goal, amazing what hands up can do to a kicked football.

Just trying to throw a couple of my thoughts out to the board. Guess many of us feel that questions should be asked, or point to areas that seem to never get corrected. Can't win national championships with problems like these. Maybe after Mark Richt gets his contract extension some things will change. Although, he did say that there would not be any coaching changes. Feel that next season should surely bring us at least 10 wins, if we are a top ten football team.

That time of the year when college football is over and serious football folks ask the tough questions.
