Probably a little shell shocked watching that defense.
Pretty decent officiating though.
averagedawg, watching the game made the comment that the officials were letting both teams play. Saw a couple of chippy plays, overall good officiating, agree with you. Wish there was more of the "let the guys play" type of officiating.
Also admired both teams players for their comments after the game. Showing respect.
Miles did however look like a whipped puppy, and he was whipped. Sooner or later good coaching has its effects. LSU folks are all over Miles today for his lack of zany play calling. Sometimes it just does not work.
Alabama is scary, and this quarterback is only going to get better. Junior next season. Below is a comment from Saban when going over the game plan in which they were defeated earlier by LSU . . .
"We felt like we should have thrown the ball more on first down," Saban said. "And we knew that we were going to have to throw the ball on first down tonight because LSU likes to put eight men in the box in that situation.
"So it was about what we needed to do to win the game. I believe in trusting and believing in the players, and I've always trusted and believed in AJ."
There is no doubt in my mind that Saban and forces looked at LSU/UGA SEC Championship Game and came away with their game plan. Several of the plays were identical to what UGA used against LSU. I did say the same thing in another thread or post this morning. Folks, even when you are the best, you can learn from the rest.
