We don't hear a lot about Kirby, lets actions speak louder than words. averagedawg with the talent that is apparently stock piled in Tuscaloosa, would be surprised if Saban even considered leaving for some time to come. Not sure what will happen with Kirby, does not appear that Michael Adams wants him to return to Athens.

Some would say that you can't have two coaches like Kirby and Grantham on the same ticket. When I look at it face value, probably true.

My question would be . . . how long do we feel Coach Grantham will remain in Athens? As a betting man, I believe that he has probably hitched his wagon to Mark Richt much the same as Kirby has done with Saban. One reason I say that is this . . . Jordan Jenkins had a lot of concern about the coaching controversy in Athens. Coach Grantham apparently gets the recognition for Jordan casting his lot with UGA. Had to be a promise that as long as Jordan Jenkins was in Athens, Grantham would be his coach. Also at that time in the recruiting war, McGarity comes out publicly and says UGA is working with Grantham on a 3 year deal. Coincidence, don't think so. JJ3 will probably stay no longer than Grantham's signed contract.

Not sure where Kirby Smart will land, but some college is going to get a coach that has been tutored properly for running a big time show.

I make no bones about Saban being the man. Last night the thing that really impressed me as much as the shutout . . . special teams. We can see just how effective Saban is when he attacks the opponents strength. Some coaches would focus on the opponents weaknesses, a coach and leader like Saban has the right formula, attack the strength of your opponent, the weaknesses will remain weak for the most part. Called coaching them up. Saban has the formula and last night he taught the LSU coaching staff a huge lesson. There is more to coaching than wearing the hat and entertaining on the buffet circuit.

Buc, A lot to be learned last night.
Saban drew it up perfectly and had the horses to run it.
Probably the best college defense I have ever seen.
Interesting postgame interview about his QB. Told the kid, "just be yourself, don't try to be something you're not."
Seemed to work pretty damn good.

Very interesting thread . . . no joke. But I have a question for everyone . . .

Is Jordan Jenkins really that good? I notice that he is a "4-star" athlete, whatever that is. So is Keith Marshall. If guys who are getting this much ink are only 4-stars, and IC was 5, then are they really that good? Looking at the recruiting rankings on Yahoo, we are 19th in the nation right now, and that's AFTER nabbing Jenkins. We haven't gotten enough of that good ol' 4 star talent.

Can this team achieve under the current leadership?

Watching that game last night, Alabama has size, speed, and strength, and STAMINA - several layers deep. LSU made us look like boys among men in the second half. 'Bama did that to THEM. All game long. Can we win this arms race with the coaching we currently have on board? Senior staff at the university?

Saban is the best coach of the era. Will go down in the top 5 in the history of college football.

Can give bama coaches all the credit we would like, and they deserved a lot, but one thing I noticed, Guys made plays. They are jumping over the back of db's to catch football's, and we dropped wide open TD passes. Bama continues to run the football up the middle. Wasn't much there for the most part, but Bama continued to pound the issue. Right up the gut, then Richardson bounces one for a TD. Also, he falls forward on every carry. Even when nothing was there, he picks up 1-2. We need one of those. IC rushed for 847 this year. Wonder how many yards Richardson would have rushed for behind our O line. Bet it would have still been well over 1,000.

If we had kicked those field goals, believe it was 6 attempts, this board would have been ready to crucify CMR. Seen it happen many times.

Average, I am with you. That defense is as good as they come. We tried hard to get Kirby. Stamina was very true. Didn't see Bama substituting very much, and that defense never slowed down.

Keep working Dawgs.

Always seems we judge other coaches on a realistic scale, and ours on one that only counts failures.
