I hope

Buc, you hit the nail on the head. A lot of people have given him the benefit of the doubt, and I'm sure we want to keep doing that. However, eventually you have to see the forest AND the trees. IC seems to fall into one of the two following categories, or both: 1. doesn't like contact, and/or 2. doesn't like work.

Either way, that doesn't work in the SEC or in the NFL. Keith Marshall coming in next year, and hopefully a couple of other guys . . . the wheat WILL be separated from the chaff, one way or another. ;)

thriller, I can't add to your statements. I have watched many of his high school tapes, and in many of those tapes, he comes up barking. In the SEC he tried the same. What he did not realize was that these guys will knock him on his butt, and if he should get up . . . (which he seldom does) they will lay him out again. This is not high school football, and IC figured that out pretty quick. Better sitting on the pines than getting blown up. FACT.

Here is a post (below in bold) I picked from the internet. Drives me nuts. Rambo was suspended for the Boise State game. Ogletree no doubt, a very big cog in our defense. For this poster to lay the final score or win or loss on these two players, makes me wonder why some folks watch football. I am dead serious. Boise State is a very good football team. They have been together as a unit for some time now. They have finally decided that they need to do something different, now Boise State gets real interesting.

The loss of Ogletree really can't be overstated. He was going to be the key to the defense in that game with his versatility as a former DB playing ILB. Not surprisingly, much of Boise's passing success came on short and intermediate passes over the middle against Ogletree's replacements that weren't expected to play at all. Boise did nothing on offense until he was out of the game.

Don't forget that Rambo was also suspended for that game. Between losing him and Rambo, that's 2 of UGA's 3 best defensive players that weren't on the field while Boise was able to do things on offense. Being without Rambo was something coaches expected and could scheme around, but losing Ogletree, especially with the lack of depth at ILB at that time, was really a killer.

How many on this board accept the above bold statements. Just curious. Bet there is some good conversation for those that want to participate in football splatter. No question that some will choose not to enter the arena, that same arena that Richt said the outsiders really don't know anything about. Was Richt right? See lots of folks posting here from time to time, thoughts??

Richt laid this out today in Tampa, sure most of you have read the following. . . . .

2.Richt said Ken Malcome enters the week No. 1 on the tailback depth chart but that it’s “a highly competitive situation” with Richard Samuel (ankle) coming back and Crowell and Carlton Thomas healthy. “I hope Ken hangs on,” Richt said. “That’d be good for him.”

Come on Ken, this might be what you have been looking for. . . . . really glad that Richt said what he did above.

Well, Buc, I'm sure you, and anyone other member here that was around when AJ got suspended last year, knows that I don't believe you can put a TEAM loss on one or two players. TEAMS have to be prepared for loss of players, and creating depth on the roster is the coach's duty.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

Buc the whole D was flat against Boise State......both sides of the ball were just not ready to play IMHO.......we showed our speed on offense early but just flat out quit midway thru the 3rd qtr of that game.....blame that loss on the coaching staff.....Dawgs were just not prepared.....
