I wasnt really wanting to hear this but Big John and B Smith put there names out there as far as looking to see what the NFL has to say.

If we do lose all 4 Rambo Charles B Smith and Big John that'll hurt a little.

stanger, not sure of this, but think that #6 is coming back for another season. You know more about this than I do, but think that #6 knows that playing with the cast of champions on that side of the ball will move him up big time next season. My money says he stays. His efforts in Tampa, Raymond James will speak volumes for this future NFL player. Playing against a very good and strong Michigan State team will put a lot of money in his pocket when he comes out next season if he performs well in the Outback Bowl. :)

Almost my bedtime. Took one last look at a couple of sites. Jarvis said that Jenkins is definitely coming back. Good news, and probably a very good decision on his part. Now I will sleep well stanger. Posted this a couple of hours after my last post. :)

Buc wrote: Here is a post (below in bold) I picked from the internet. Drives me nuts. Rambo was suspended for the Boise State game. Ogletree no doubt, a very big cog in our defense. For this poster to lay the final score or win or loss on these two players, makes me wonder why some folks watch football. I am dead serious. Boise State is a very good football team. They have been together as a unit for some time now. They have finally decided that they need to do something different, now Boise State gets real interesting.

The loss of Ogletree really can't be overstated. He was going to be the key to the defense in that game with his versatility as a former DB playing ILB. Not surprisingly, much of Boise's passing success came on short and intermediate passes over the middle against Ogletree's replacements that weren't expected to play at all. Boise did nothing on offense until he was out of the game.

Don't forget that Rambo was also suspended for that game. Between losing him and Rambo, that's 2 of UGA's 3 best defensive players that weren't on the field while Boise was able to do things on offense. Being without Rambo was something coaches expected and could scheme around, but losing Ogletree, especially with the lack of depth at ILB at that time, was really a killer.

How many on this board accept the above bold statements. Just curious. Bet there is some good conversation for those that want to participate in football splatter. No question that some will choose not to enter the arena, that same arena that Richt said the outsiders really don't know anything about. Was Richt right? See lots of folks posting here from time to time, thoughts??

Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda.... three words that drive me crazy. The fact is that we didn't. You can speculate on possibilities all you want, but it doesn't change anything. You play the game with the members of your team that are available at that time. Our team did not overcome the obstacles it need to in order to achieve victory. Do you believe any team can beat another team on any given day?

That, my friend, is why you play the game.

Gathered the information below from an article that Chip Towers published today.

Reading what Coach Grantham has to say, no wonder myself and others are so high on this man. Has the players best interest at heart and . . . . seems to have defensive coaching skills. Looking forward to Grantham's defense going against a big, bad offensive line and a quarterback that is much better than average in the Outback Bowl.

Hoping that the coaches on the offensive side of the ball are as straight forward and effective as the defensive coaches seem to be. Personally, don't think that Orson Charles will be in the top 15, and those of us that have watched him play high school and college ball know that he is a very good football player. Orson is a very smart young man, he will weigh all the options and feel sure he will make the best decision for himself and of course . . . the family. Buc's prediction . . . I feel he will return to Athens. :)

The Bulldogs have the ultimate resource at their disposal in Todd Grantham, who spent 11 years in the NFL before coming to Georgia as defensive coordinator. He sees it as a fairly simple decision for these young men.

“If you’re not a top 15 pick you should stay in school,” Grantham stated flatly. “If you’re a top 15 pick, the amount of money that you make you can justify it. But if you’re not, you should work to become that. Because if you look at the guaranteed money you make up at the top is so great, you can actually make money by staying. You go from being a middle second-round pick to a bottom first- or top-second-round pick, you’re talking hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars. You can make that by working hard.”

That said, Grantham said he doesn’t flat out tell a player he should stay or go.

“Each individual is different and each individual has to make their own decisions,” he said. “We’re going to do what’s best for them.

“I’ll talk to them and give them my view as far as pluses and minuses for all good players and just lay it out there for them. I want to make sure they make an educated, wise decision that’s best for them and their future. But if you’re not a top 15 pick you need to be working to become that.”
