BCS National Championship Game: LSU vs. Oklahoma State. After the Beatdown in Bedlam that OSU put on Oklahoma tonight, I don't see how the human voters can send Bama, a team that didn't even win it's own division, to face LSU again. That performace by the cowboys gave them every excuse to make it so they don't have to. Come on human voters, let's do some leapfrogging!
Sugar Bowl: Alabama vs. West Virginia
Rose Bowl: Oregon vs. Wisconsin
Orange Bowl: Clemson vs. Stanford
Fiesta Bowl: Houston vs. Boise State (if two mid-majors qualify, they always like to put them together for some reason). However, I can also see this bowl game being Stanford vs Boise State, with Houston going to the Sugar against Bama and West Virginia playing Clemson in the Orange.
Capital One Bowl: Arkansas
Cotton Bowl: Georgia.
Rare trip out west to Texas for the Dawgs. The Cotton Bowl and the Outback Bowl are considered to be of equal prestege, so they usually take the matchup that they think will bring them the most sales at the live gate. This results in the Cotton Bowl almost always taking the closest SEC west team that's up to it's standards, which is why Arkansas ends up here every year and if not them then Auburn.
This year though, with the SEC West's 3 best teams all being in higher bowl games and Auburn not worthy of a trip to a bowl of the Cotton's calliber, the Cotton Bowl is going to have to extend a rare invitation to a team from the SEC East, and I think that will be us. South Carolina is the only other logical choice here, and they are even further from Dallas than we are (an extra 2 hours down I-20), their overall program in terms of tradition and name-recognition is not as glamorous as ours, and our fan base travels better and spends more money. So, it's the cotton bowl for us.
Outback Bowl: South Carolina
Chick-Fil-A Bowl: Auburn (7-5 record and close by. Logical choice.)
The remaining SEC teams that are bowl eligible are all 6-6: Florida, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt
Gator Bowl: Florida
Music City Bowl: Vanderbilt (they go with the in-state team, because Vandy will bring precisely no-one to Shreveport for the Liberty Bowl, so they leave them with Ole Miss who will travel and be of greater benefit to the liberty at the live gate).
Liberty Bowl: Ole Miss
