This is the truth, I don't know, Richt seems to want to pull folks up by their bootstraps. After the exhibition that IC put on in front of the cameras for all to see, would not surprise me to see Richt try to keep this young rebel. I think that Richt would be doing that at the expense of UGA football. Richt did not raise these young players, and if he thinks he can turn them around in one or two years . . . . look back, look closely at the past few years, then look me in the eyes and say IC belongs here and . . . . he will be our starting tailback at UGA.

sadlerdawg, this is a good football team that cannot afford to have a cancer to grow. IC is not respected apparently by his team or fans and alumni. Richt probably knows after the sideline escapade with IC that some things are not possible. If Richt feels that IC is all that, then don't spend time in North Carolina looking for a running back.

Some things are not hard to figure out. IC cannot explain or man up to what he has NOT DONE since arriving in Athens. There comes a time when you had better learn how to read and write if you can't carry a football in the SEC. Street corners are a tough place to make a living.

Shame on you IC for showing your head coach up on National TV. Personally, think like stanger said in one of his earlier posts, you ain't all that.

Buc, How do you think Saban would have handled the situation, certainly no cajoling. Richt needs to separate the wheat from the chafe. LSU has four quality tailbacks. We have none. I am sure I will offend some people but here goes. Coach Richt, cut out some of the mission trips and go on some recruiting trips.

Really hope that we don't look back over our shoulders when this group leaves and say the same things that were said when we supposedly had had the number one team in the nation, memory serves me right went something like 9-3 with that group.

One of if not the most back pats that Richt gets on this board is for his recruiting skills. Taking that into consideration, we are still ranked behind others in the SEC constantly, Bama, UF, LSU. All of us know a good high school football player when we see them on Friday nights. Sometimes that same talent does not look the same once in college. Many times these young men are ranked or rated by folks that should not be doing that for a living.

Don't really care how many 5 star athletes you put on a team, where does it say that lackluster coaching will continue the progress of these young players. Those of us on this board can site more than one case in point when the talent may have been there, but the coaching skills were not. Like I mentioned above, hope that same scenario doesn't play out again. With this group I think we won the games we should have and lost the ones that we should have. Taking into considration South Carolina, whether that loss was players or coaches, don't know, do know that we lost.

My main suggestion is fix the offensive side, don't care how, just fix it.

As I said earlier, I had to leave at half time, and did not get to see the rest of the game. I see where several made mention of IC tantrum on the side line on national TV. What did he do and what was the reason the made a showing for himself.

Curosity got the best of me and went back and came away with this. Discussing UGA recruiting since Richt has been coach. Makes me wonder about a phrase that I have used most of this season. Coach'em Up . . . .

This is not a direct shot at Richt, it goes to what I said above about top rated talent and the outcome of those rated so high. Think maybe it shows the importance of a really good coaching staff. We made that move with Coach Grantham, and think most will agree, that has paid dividends. Wonder where this squad would be today had Coach Grantham not been here. Defense played one heck of a half against LSU.

Buc, Coach 'em up.
And don't just recruit the flashy kids.
Recruit some down and dirty OL.

averagedawg, appears to me that the wheels have been put in motion to do just as you suggest. Unless I am missing something, think that Friend is going to change some things on campus. Young coach full of pp and vinegar appears to me.

We have that formula on the defensive side, maybe now we go a step further and correct the offensive side. All of us realize that we have to get as you say, "down and dirty offensive linemen". Sure have enjoyed having Ben Jones wearing the Red and Black, Ben in my opinion expresses what you said above. He has been a special player and leader. :)
