BUT........if UGA had started the season off winning their 1st two games, I believe AM's name would be mentioned in the Heisman race.....maybe not in the top 3 but certainly mentioned. Stanford started strong as did others and that ALWAYS helps those teams promoting their Heisman candidates.

I agree, but it's like the national championship in some ways...

When you are not in the discussion at the beginning of the season, it's hard to jump in and
leapfrog all the teams who were ranked ahead of you in the pre-season.

You are so right, very few exceptions......Cam Newton maybe?

I'm envious but have a good gig so not complaining. Kinda semi-retired (can come and go when I want).
