Love what CTG has been able to do in his first two years, especially the significant improvement between last year and this year. Sure hope (selfishly of course) that he sticks around. Just went out and took a look at our roster and the depth chart... I already pretty much knew who we were going to lose next year, but seeing it on paper and knowing how dominant our D is now, hair on the back of my neck stood straight up. We lose Boykin and Tyson... That's it.. So long as we stay away from injuries and other crap (dui, arrest, funny smokes, etc...)things are looking good for next year... Can't wait to see some of the youngsters with a year under their belts... WOW...

Time to kick the cats and smash the bugs!!!! GATA Dawgs...

Guess we all wonder about every coach backing up their play year after year.

Would be rather surprising if Grantham did not have an outstanding defensive year with the players UGA has returning. Noticeable what he has done in two seasons with some of the same players that played for another coach.

Schedules can get tougher than what we had this season, that however does not have any bearing on ones coaching ability.

Grantham will never return to the NFL, he could have stayed with an organization that supposedly has it all, money, exposure, America's team. Believe he left because he knew he wanted to be back among the young folks that want to be coached up. Grantham is a teacher, some folks calling themselves coaches know nothing about teaching.

UGA keeps Grantham, this defense will only get better and overall it will only help the TEAM progress to where each one of us want UGA to be. As averagedawg said, pay the man, don't let another good defensive coach get away.

Right on Buc. A college coach is teacher and a coach. The pro coach is a manager. I've been on the "Bash CMR wagon" too. And he is a teacher of life and a coach. And I'm willing to man-up and say "I'm sorry" at the same time I have to say to CMR "Please learn from this game".

I keep hearing fans from other teams say to me "Fire coach Richt, we'll take him". Well Ihave to say. "Not right now"

Go Dawgs and goog night.

Hope you are right Buc but I've learned to NEVER say never.

CTG was the DLine coach at Dallas, just hope becoming the DC at a big SEC school like UGA wasn't a stepping stone back to the NFL as a DC.......does BVG ring a bell?

CTG definitely feels more like a college coach than BVG......sure hope he stays.....imo, he would be crazy to leave for 2 more years with the players he will have "stacked" up.....BUT money talks.

No doubt BVG is an excellent defensive coach. There was something, not sure what about his personality that reminds me a bit of the new head coach at Florida. That get that strange look in their eyes.

Must admit, I have seen some things with our present defensive coach that makes me think you must have that type of spirit or the results do not translate to the playing field.

Erk without fail was head butting or doing things that other defensive coaches were not.

Whatever it is, as long as it is fair, hope Grantham stays also. Nice place for a understudy to begin learning his College Football Defensive Coaching Degree.(CFDCD) Somewhat like Kirby has done under Saban.

Lot of truth in your post gillette.

Somehow I get the feeling that maybe the best thing that could have happened to us, our football team and our group of coaches, for the main part Richt, was the hiring of an AD that said this is how we are going to approach what has become a huge problem for the money maker at UGA. (Football) That is not a ugly statement, it gets directly to the truth.

I have seen some or many changes from Richt, not being on the sidelines, living in Florida and watching and listening to every thing that concerns UGA Football. His demeanor at his press conferences has changed, not once but a couple of times this year.

I know that he does not want to lose another coach, like what happened to WM and his S&C coach. That gets back to his personal beliefs, concerned about families.

Will never forget WM basically turning his nose up at Richt when the hammer came down. WM should never have been there in that position. Another lesson learned by Richt. Just try to compare Martinez to Grantham, that is what I am talking about.

If we make it to Atlanta, there will be a lot of questions answered. Never really know until the whistle is blown. :)
