Murray ranked #24 on top college players. Report says he is struggling a little this year without AJ. I will agree to a point, but look at his stats.

Attempt Comp Comp % Yds Avg yd TD Int Rating
160 98 61.3 1327 8.3 13 6 150.2

196 133 63.8 1874 9.5 14 6 109.5

Any guesses who's stats are on the second line?

Tom Brady. #2 ranked QB in NFL. Did not use Aaron Rogers because he is just off the chart! The only difference in calculating is that the NFL uses Avg yds and not total yards.

Four categories are used as a basis for compiling a rating in NFL

Percentage of completions per attempt
Average yards gained per attempt
Percentage of touchdown passes per attempt
Percentage of interceptions per attempt

College passer rating is calculated using each quarterback's completion percentage, passing yardage, touchdowns and interceptions.

Is Murray having that bad of a year?

No, not really except his average of 8.3 yards per completion isn't good enough in the college game (maybe NFL). Just my opinion though but his average should be 13 yards or better.

I haven't felt like AM has played as well as I was expecting him to. Not to say he's played poorly but lot's of college players have a letdown or the appearance of a letdwon their Sophomore year after spectacular Freshmen outings. Several INT's have appeared to happen when he was trying to forec the ball to OC. Most notable was against USC.

I dont think he is having a "bad" year. he is having a less productive year to this point. The Tom Brady thing is irrelivant. Brady is in the NFL where EVERYONE is good. Murray is not! Pull up his stats up to this point in the season for last year (since AJ was out for the first 4-5 weeks) that would give a better clue as to what Murray has done so far. Also...Murray's long ball this season as seemed pretty off! He is doing a servicable job but is not playing up to the type of qb he could be. He is still young though. Love MURRAY!!!! He is also not scrambling like he did last year

Goooooo Dawgs...Sic'em...Woof Woof Woof!!!

I believe AM's long ball is a little off because MM is faster than TK. If you've noticed, the long balls he DOES connect with is to MM. Then he'll throw a long one to TK and over throw him. Just a difference in speed between the two.

Also, I'm glad he's not running quite as much, don't need him hurt (I know, I know, he can stay in the pocket and get hurt with our OL).

Now against UF, do ANYTHING to win that game, AM can run 20 times as long as we win.

Personally I think the pass per completion metric is a little overrated. I think it is a system kind of thing.

If you look at the metric on a team basis as opposed to an individual basis then GT leads the nation at 26.4 yards per completion. I'm guessing since they only throw ~ 12 passes a game (if that) most of those yards are from tossing up the long ball to keep defenses honest.

The Dawgs as a team are clocking ~14 yards per completion which is right around where you think they should be.

Just my 2 cents.

Go Dawgs!!!!
