A winning streak of four does not hurt, but it certainly does not make us world beaters either.

Richt obviously rethought that view this past week. “I wasn’t in the mood to go for it on fourth down last week,” he said, because he “didn’t like what we had prepared.” But in the week before playing the Vols, he said, “we did a good job of putting a plan together. I had more confidence in what the offensive staff put together, so I was more decisive with what to do because I had more faith in what we were doing and how we were going about it.”

You get the idea that maybe the head coach was a bit more involved in the offensive game planning last week.

I had read that, and was trying to find it again to put out here. I agree with you Buc, that as the season has gone on CMR is separating himself from Bobo, and challenging the what is being planned and called, and calling his offensive staff out!!!

Buc, did you see CMR's show Sunday? He talked about when we had the ball on our 7 yard line that Bobo was debating and undecided whether to go for the long ball or try and grind out a 1st down etc. CMR was talking to him on the headsets and told him to go ahead and go for it if it "was there". Did you see his show?

Like you said, he's definitely approving and suggesting plays again.

wlayton, I sure did see and hear the words come out of Richt's mouth. Put a smile on my face, much like a nice steak filet does on occasion. Think Richt said that there was a bit of chatter between the offensive coaches, and Richt brought the hammer down and said "do it". That is Grantham like. ;)

This was not a bad UT football team. More like middle of the road as I see it. Good win, but Florida and Auburn will be a lot tougher.

Florida has speed and the defense is actually good. IC will have more problems trying to get around the corner against UF especially. Said at the beginning of the season, before a game was played in a thread that I started, Offensive line was my biggest worry. Still is, and as you have alluded to, we are what we are.

Beating UGA could be UF's Super Bowl this season.

Still having a problem with the tight ends not getting a lot of play. From what I can see, the tight ends are being kept in to block, AM needs all the help he can get. Kind of like the old cowboy movies, the calvary is on the way. You have read this team and graded it precisely my Brother. :)

"For the 4th and 1's, I can understand why he kicked the FG against MSU. I really can."

I can as well, and looking at that isolated incident it's okay to say that was NOT a
bad call.

The thing we have to deal with now though is that because of a lot of reasons, we are
always looking at a bigger picture and trends. We don't go for it on 4th and short in
a debatable situation, and we remember all the other overly conservative moves made
in recent UGA history.

When you have become known as Field Goal U, then anytime the FG team walks onto the
field when you've got the ball 4th and short inside the 10.. you are going to hear
a collective sigh. Especially when it's botched. All of a sudden, every other time
we've settled for a field goal attempt jumps into our minds and the call gets magnified.

Such is the life of a maligned coach. People bring up stuff from 3 years ago. Everything
you do is examined with a critical microscope that encompasses every similar situation
you've ever been in.

WoodstockDawg, Bobo has been at the helm too long now not to be running the offensive show. Apparently Richt sent Bobo back to "school" in the box to get a better look at what is going on. Still amazes me that Bobo is not on the field, there has to be a reason for that. My thinking, Richt is giving out the pats on the butts, something had to change and I feel again . . . . Richt heard what McGarity had to say.

Agree with several folks on this board and their posts about keeping eyes on Vandy, this is not Homecoming many years back . . . . :)

It wasn't totally awesome... Coming home some yayhoo pulled out right in front of me and
wrecked up my new truck.

NO joke now... When telling the cops what happened, I referred to the other vehicle as
a clown car because about 8 people piled out of it.

2 of them were wearing UT hats... once again, no joke.
