I guess I get a little too pi55ed off at this sort of thing because my niece lost her husband to a DUI, at approximately 2:00 am. Her husband was the drunk in that one. He left behind a baby boy for her to raise.
I can't remember which coach said it, I think Bill Parcells did at least once, but nothing good happens after midnight. Certainly for my niece that was the case just a few years ago.
So for all of you who like to tip back a few and then get behind the wheel of a 4,000 pound vehicle and run it at 90+ mph in a 55 zone at 2:00 am, I apologize for assuming that he was up to no good. "Thug" was the wrong word. I'll see if I can be more accurate in my phraseology from here forward. I'm sure I can think of some terminology that is more accurate.
Punishment has been handed down, as ogredawg said. Time to move on.

no need to apologize.....say how you feel.....sorry to hear about your loss and I can understand....young people do stupid things and thank God CW did not hurt or kill anyone...we all have done things we are not proud of.....I do not condone what he did at all.....and it will cost him not only in playing time but in his wallet, in the State of Georgia a DUI cost around 10K in expenses including the fine....

Buc, you can be one mean cookieBuc wrote: Guess it is like most TV police stops that I have viewed. First question asked after the stop is usually . . . . have you had anything to drink . . . . anyone know what the answer to that one is.
CW is a rather large human being, 6'4" and 270 pounds. If he blew .12 he probably had more than a couple of beers. Thought I would answer the question above.
Discipline starts at home. Policy is set at the University of Georgia by Richt and probably other higher ups. Law enforcement enforces the law.
Too many folks think that they can drink and drive, some can or so they think. When you are caught driving 90 or so in area not suitable for that, you probably should not drink and drive. Something in the gray matter is not functioning properly.
GaBoi, could not discern whether or not you were bragging or complaining about your DUI. Either way, you know better than to use the language you used in this thread. Like you said, you have been here for four years, it won't fly here and you know that. If you are ready to leave the board suggest that you talk to Steve, he is the one that decides that. You don't like what you read here anymore, there are many blogs out there.
Mike Honcho . . . Amen.

All kidding aide, people that piss me off the most are those who drive under any type of influence. I as well have a story, but mine just happens to not be family. One of my groomsmen sisters was hit head on by a drunk driver instantly killing them both. She was in her last semester earning her doctorate degree, but that was erased on a cold valentines night when she was driving home from her dates house. I can easily understand the frustration of CW but he did make a mistake. He's a grown man and had to answer for his actions. Richt only had to suspend him for one game but did two instead. I can't decide if he deserves more or just kicked off the team... Buc I admire the quality of being straight to the point and blunt when telling it like it is. Nobody demonstrates the trait better then you and I may not agree with you 100% of the time, but I thank you for keeping us on our heels.
