Not going to list his name, but if you want to look him up you can. Hope no one honestly believes, partying and drinking doesn't go on at bama. In his words though, police around there just make sure you get home. I have a buddy who has a picture of quite a few of the players, including one Heisman trophy winner, at a party. You would never guess what was in his hand. ;)

I can certainly believe that AD5. I have some relatives in Ala and have been over there visiting for 30 years. The BAMA fans are truly a different breed. A player could murder somebody and you would never hear about it. Pretty radical and dillusional fan base.

There's a big difference in "southern football" from all the rest ......and then there's Alabama football.

Guess it is like most TV police stops that I have viewed. First question asked after the stop is usually . . . . have you had anything to drink . . . . anyone know what the answer to that one is.

CW is a rather large human being, 6'4" and 270 pounds. If he blew .12 he probably had more than a couple of beers. Thought I would answer the question above.

Discipline starts at home. Policy is set at the University of Georgia by Richt and probably other higher ups. Law enforcement enforces the law.

Too many folks think that they can drink and drive, some can or so they think. When you are caught driving 90 or so in area not suitable for that, you probably should not drink and drive. Something in the gray matter is not functioning properly.

GaBoi, could not discern whether or not you were bragging or complaining about your DUI. Either way, you know better than to use the language you used in this thread. Like you said, you have been here for four years, it won't fly here and you know that. If you are ready to leave the board suggest that you talk to Steve, he is the one that decides that. You don't like what you read here anymore, there are many blogs out there.

Mike Honcho . . . Amen.

I hear that CW is sorry, take him at his word.
Is he sorry for his behavior or sorry because he got caught? Only he knows that answer.
If these kids are 21 they can consume alcohol. That's what kids do. I won't judge them.
Driving and drinking's another matter. I have zero tolerance for that.

Had this been an isolated incident, few would be in an uproar.

With our recent past of numerous transgressions, it's human nature to think "oh here we go again".

Plus let's be honest here... CW's DUI is magnified on the stupidity level because of what has
happened with some other players. Some might say that is unfair to dump the mistakes of others
onto CW and magnify his one mistake, but this is a unique situation. This is a team that went
through a string of arrests and mistakes. This is a team that people are looking at in this
regard with a magnifying glass. This is a team that needs to make a bolder statement regarding
player arrests. This is a team under a lot of scrutiny in that regard, and there needs to be
an even greater emphasis put on toeing the line. Because of that, this sort of problem is
going to magnified for awhile.

Same thing may go on at Alabama and just get covered up, that's absolutely a valid point.
Here however.... it isn't going to be covered up. Such is life. It wasn't covered up, so
now people are going to have strong opinions regarding how Richt and UGA react. We're also
going to look at CW and wonder where his mind was, especially in view of our supposed
increased emphasis on the issue of player arrests.

Like I say drinking is one thing. DUI is something else.
Local police departments may show deference but I can assure you that the Alabama Highway Patrol would have no qualms arresting anyone.
