Tale of Two Halfs

I'm just referring to the offensive philosophy as a whole--i.e. we know when he's going to try to milk the clock, we know when passes are coming, we know he would rather kick FG's than ever go for it. Even in clock milking mode, it appeared that MS knew a pass was coming at that time and was ready for it. Like I said earlier, everyone in the stands knew what play was coming in the 2nd half, not so much in the first half because it was a much better called half.

"Mullen made adjustments to stop the run because he knew CMR was going to try and do just that."

That's a very good point.. it's not just adjusting to blocking.. it was selling out to stop the
run and against most SEC defenses, no amount of counter adjusting is going to automatically
enable you to run if that defense is selling out to stop the run.

The question becomes is Richt just too conservative when he has a lead. I know we can throw a pick 6 and it can be a catch 22, but unless you're giving away your plays.. a pick 6 when they are selling out to stop the run should be a very rare event.

I dont know about the rest of you but I get the feeling that UGA play calling is predicated on just staying "in the game" rather than taking charge of the game. As long as that is the thinking we are always going to be an also ran or cellar dwellar. Either one of those stinks.

Bump!!

Richt has said that more than once, trying to stay in the game. What is happening with the 4 and 5 star athletes that cast their vote with UGA?

Agreed...there's "playing to win" and "playing not to lose" which category do you think CMR fits in?
