Nothing has changed folks

Buc, I agree it isn't all about 5 star recruits. But my thinking is this: if Petersen can take 2-3 stars and beat Richt who has 3-4-5 stars, then what would happen if Petersen got to coach our 4 stars???

I want both: I want the best coach coaching the best athletes, and I will win.

Spurrier can take 3-4 stars and beat 4-5 stars; Saban can take 5 stars and destroy you with them.

If CMR had 85 five stars, and Sbana had 85 four stars, he beats us.

I want to offer Petersen, or that dude at BYU $5 million a year and tell him to bring his whole staff.

Petersen had a brand new OC, after the WR was suspended, had NO wr's with any experience, after the safety got hurt had NO DB's who played last year, came to OUR back yard, against SEC refs, .....................and beat the hell out of us.

I said before this game that 0-2 was not an option for me. I don't care if we start 0-2, finish 12-2 and #3 in the nation, CMR isn't the answer anymore.

CMR, beat SC and UF, I give you ONE more year with all these young guns; lose EITHER of those two, get out of town.

I know what you mean, I guess what I mainly was refering to was that fact the VD could get 110% out of an average player, kind of like what Perterson is doing at BS. I know most programs go through times, ND, MICH, NEB, TEX, I just don't like to face the facts that we have fallen to a second tier program.

Another thing that eats at me is the players talked about how they were made fun of last year for being dead tired in the 4th quarter. This was a goal for the team to be inshape and win the 4th quarter. I think everyone saw at the end of the 2nd quarter, this team was in worst shape than last year. That is why I have always stated that talk is cheap, show me your results.

Bump!!

South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday between the Hedges . . . . .

As you said duck, talk is cheap, hope that the football team has found new leadership on the sidelines and (in the booth). Hope the players will be ok with whatever uniforms we wear. Red and Black or Silver Britches or whatever. PP on Nike and Adams.

South Carolina and UF will be a make it or break it games for MR. South Carolina should never win the East but somehow Spurrier got the to be an actual contender for the East. UF I still think is recovering from their loss of Tebow, plus they have a new head coach should be a game Georgia wins. I think that the first SEC game of the season determines how the rest of the year will play out. If MR loses to SOuth Carolina he needs to go, if he wins the rest of the games should be an automatic win until UF. We will see if MR feels the fire burning under his seat.

Thought I would post what my "inside guy" had to say (most of you know I have this guy that's very close to the program). He was at the game and was a QB in college.....smart guy......here's his assessment:

Couldn’t agree with you more. 9 months to prepare for Boise State, and that’s what we get? In BSU, you saw a team with inferior talent, but they are supremely coached and disciplined. Petersen keeps losing players and he keeps losing coaches. However they keep winning, knocking off the big boys that they play, and playing sound football every year. They are innovative on offense, and they take what the defense is giving them (unlike us). They took it to us despite the fact that there’s not one guy on their roster that UGA would have even offered. Coaching makes a big difference in college, and they are very well coached. We are very poorly coached, and I’m sick of watching it. I’m so glad that I don’t have season tickets this year. Richt has a chance to redeem himself on Saturday, but I expect SC to maul us. I am going, but I would stay home if I didn’t already have a plane ticket. I don’t think it will be close, and I expect it to be UGLY in Athens on Saturday with the fans. It’s a shame because it’s not the players’ fault. This is definitely hurting recruiting, but this year’s class in not impressive anyway outside of Theus. Unless it turns around Saturday, I see 4 definite losses: BSU, SC, Miss State, and UF. I think we’ll lose at least once between Tennessee, Auburn, and Tech. That’s 7-5, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see 6-6 or even (gasp) 5-7. That’s without playing the three best teams in the West. It’s completely unacceptable. Time to blow the thing up and start over.

I couldn’t agree more with Petersen by the way. He’s #1 in my book, and there’s no close #2. Everyone says that he’ll never leave BSU, but I would throw big $ his way and make him tell me no several times. Unfortunately, I think we’ll wind up with either Kirby Smart or Dan Mullen, and I’m not too excited about either of those guys. Though Mullen wins, I HATE his offense, and we don’t have the guys currently to run it at QB. I think that there’s no way to know how good of a coach Kirby is, and hiring him would be an enormous risk. I’d rather see Dooley from UT, but I’m not sure he would make the switch so soon. I don’t think they could ever convince a guy like Gruden to take the job, though I think he would be fantastic because of his smarts and charisma.
We are in a tailspin, and I don’t think Richt can recover. I want to be excited about a possible replacement, but I can’t even get excited about that!

wlayton, sometimes emotions run a bit high and I suppose all of us get caught up in the "moment".

Hope so Buc.......I'm hoping I don't "copy and paste" that same list at the END of the season.

I'm fearful I might.... but will say that I was certainly excited seeing the young talent playing well Sat. IC and MM are studs along with Boykin, OC and AM (Anderson is going to get AM killed...he's NOT very good although the OL did play better). We "should" get better every week, we'll just have to see. If they can get momentum, they could still do well "in spite" of our coaches.
