When McGarity first came on board he announced that we would play 7 home games each season. It would be good for teh team, good for teh area economically, etc. Then several weeks later when ESPN waved some $$$ at Adams and McGarity, we dropped a home game for a game in the dome, told over 20,000 faithful dawgfans that they would not be able to attend the game. This convinced me Greg was either FOS or forced to capitulate to adams and the board basically making him look like a fool.

Wondered what your reasoning was. Understand now where you stand and why. Just asking. . . :)

Beautiful thing about this forum - you can disagree here and not get flamed.

As for me, not only will I give McG. a pass, I'll give him a huge salute and a great big thank you SIR! This game will give us a spotlight that we honestly don't deserve after the past TWO seasons. As for being in Atlanta versus Athens, I don't think too many DAWGS faithful will mind - have you ever been on 316 before and after a game in Athens? An awful lot of the Bulldog Nation is imported from outside the Clarke County lines. The commute for this game will be a lot shorter for many.

Anyway - I enjoy hearing the diverse viewpoints on this board! Keep'em coming!

The AD understands we are at a crossroads.
Excellent management is important but it all means nothing until we start winning again.
You cannot expect season ticket holders to keep sending donations and spending big weekend bucks to watch another loss.
With the economy on life support and people cutting back, why would they?
I can only hope we turn it around. The energy level at Sanford last year was an embarrassment.

I agree with thriller and YD1....

I think it was a brilliant marketing and money move. UGA is in great need for some GOOD PR for a change and McGarity jumped at the opportunity to try and showcase UGA on the national level when everybody is STARVING to see CF start up and every TV in America will be tuned in.........total marketing coup in my opinion.

guess I'm more concerned about starting out 0-2 and watching the dawg nation turn on this staff with a vengeance. BUT, if we start out 2-0 or even 1-1 with a win over BSU, I guess the glass would still be half full in most folks eyes.

I would venture if we are 2-0 and kick SS butt back to Columbia then said glass would be full over the rim flowing on the ground. There would not be enough seats on the CMR bandwagon and rightly so.

Nothing cures ills in sports like winning...ask the Cubs...close to record heat here in the Classic City today and for the rest of the week. Coach'm up and sweat the grass green at Sanford. Go Dawgs
