Old Folks Understand Pups

When McGarity first came on board he announced that we would play 7 home games each season. It would be good for teh team, good for teh area economically, etc. Then several weeks later when ESPN waved some $$$ at Adams and McGarity, we dropped a home game for a game in the dome, told over 20,000 faithful dawgfans that they would not be able to attend the game. This convinced me Greg was either FOS or forced to capitulate to adams and the board basically making him look like a fool.

Isn't it nice to know that a "pup" like me (49 years old - road the bus with Herschel) and an even littler "pup" like you has a great place to "read and react"? This forum is populated by QUALITY individuals who KNOW the game and the university. It's truly an honor to post here.

I hear what you're saying, but I would still much rather see us play Boise State versus Louisville any day. If we win that first game, we're right back on the map.

I'd rather see us playing in anyone in the Athens than anyone in the Dome. McGarity promised us that, then immediately went back on his word.

The politics of big business – when Mac made the promise to play 7 home games that is what he believed at the time he spoke.

When the opportunity came to shuffle the cards and swap a game to play in the dome on ESPN for a big pay day, Mac did the math plus having just come off the biggest recruiting year in memory he wanted to showcase on national television that UGA was indeed on the way back.

I will give him a pass on this and look forward to seeing if he gets back to the “7” homes. My money says he will.
