Buc. I miss the days of Bear Bryant.
Although I'm not a 'Bama fan, I was a Bryant admirer.
He had no qualms over benching anybody.

average, the Hound Tooth Coach had a way with words . . . . . ;) Watched his TV show every week, without fail. No damn nonsense. Erk had the same traits, still say he should have been head coach at UGA. Oh well . . . .

Dooley would have never won a NC without Erk. Dooley was always paranoid of Erk.

averagedawg, if ever a post should be BUMPED. (Your post is way correct and a lot of us are aware) DOUBLE BUMP!! Dooley was always paranoid of Erk.

thriller, the closer I look, the more I am convinced that college football is close to turning upside down. In JJ's case, appears that "outside" interference again played a big role in aiding and abetting.

Sorry folks, I have great concern with the sport that all of us have loved for most of our lives. Time for the JTII's and hardliners to take our game back to the football field, and away from the NCAA types that allow players to play in a major bowl, then start their probation period the following season. Funny thing happened on the way to the football field, all-star quarterback played the game then renigged on his vow to stay in school.

NCAA, minister, media and many others sources are aiding and abetting by their actions. Or so it appears to me.

Buc, my wife and I were talking just yesterday about all this corruption in college football (and basketball, for that matter). And the reason we were discusiing was we were watching the CWS and noticed you don't see nearly the problems in college baseball or hockey as you do in football or basketball. Why is that, I wonder??? Maybe because baseball and hockey have minor league systems and the "world class" players are drafted, and paid, usually right out of high school, leaving the college game maninly for the ones who want an education and love playing the sport. At least that's the way I see it. May be time for the NFL and NBA to look into minor league systems to help clean up college sports.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

sadlerdawg, good post. Also want to say that when I saw the youtube tape with the DI, you came to mind.

I think the solution or the possible solution that you and your wife discussed make a lot of sense.

There will be a time in the near future that this NCAA thing is a total joke. Maybe not 100% but numbers and percentages that will bring college football to its knees.

I should not say this, but again, I will.

I can see some young man raising his right hand and ending up at Pendleton or any other Corps boot camp and acting like some of the recent jokes that we have had at UGA.

JTII, leading the resurgance to save Richt's job should be embraced. If Richt had not changed the S&C leader . . . . wonder what 2011 would look like at the end of the year.

Going to hold true to what I said a day or two ago, going to post a few opinons that are not from this board. Good to hear from you again Marine.
