Looking around, not sure that I see too many Saban's looking for jobs.
Say it again, there will be many comments made about UGA football this season, hope that the comments are not about another talented bunch of athletes in Athens talking the talk.
Do want to hear Richt say that Bobo is calling the plays, if Bobo is the offensive coordinator with that responsibility. That has been his sound bite thus far. Not back tracking like he did when McGarity came on board. Making mention of getting "involved" again with the team that he had not had a hands on approach with, had too many outside issues.
I am glad that Richt had all of the outside interference removed by his athletic director, does not have any place to hide in 2011. 2011 is the Mark Richt Show. I don't think that I would want my multi-million dollar contract depending on Bobo's success with teams like Boise State, South Carolina, Florida, Mississippi State, Auburn, and what the hell, we have been known to slip against lesser talents.
Going to stop looking for excuses such as the offensive line, defensive backs, second year in Grantham's 3/4. Richt has been on campus for many years . . . . why have we been going through this for far too many seasons and why should we continue . . . . Answer, McGarity said time to man up.

I like Patterson especially from the defensive point kd made above........BUT......I really wouldn't care who UGA chose as long as he was an established, winning and EXPERIENCED coach with a great SYSTEM. For me GP has that but he's just one example.
WANT experience......DON'T want to take CHANCES on someone that isn't a HC, not the right time for that.....imo.

I certainly HOPE all this talk becomes a moot point.

Experience is a funny thing though. It is not always a good barometer of future performance.
I think it is a coin flip either way.

I am definitely not in disagreement that Richt should be replaced. I am in agreement with that and for the reasons mentioned in the link below. Cold hard facts about OUR PROGRAM. It really does not matter how long anyone has been on this board or how long they have been UGA supporters. Comes down to the cold . . . hard . . . facts.
I will say it . . . . I hope we win every game we play. If we lose a game, I hope we left everything on the field.
If we replace Richt, I hope that decision belongs to AD McGarity and no one else. If we are going to go for the best, let's let the best select. That is why they were hired and are paid handsomely for.

Look at it from another way.
Suppose you have a million dollars to invest in the markets. Are you going to hire an experienced money manager, that has 20-25 years managing money in these crazy global markets or are you going to hire a second year money manager that hasn't been in the trenches in tough markets etc that very well MAY BE a FUTURE great money manager but has no real professional experience?
I know without a DOUBT who you would chose........(just sayin')

"Looking over TCU's record since 2000 or before, the competition played gives me a glimer of hope that their coach would stroll into the SEC and kick ass. I don't buy that."
I was thinking about that a few minutes ago while running.......well, UM did JUST that.
Took his system from a very successful Utah team, injected SEC players and won 2 NC's in 5 years.........hmmmmmmmmm

(btw......just having some fun.....gotta do something to get the blood going for 69 more days)
