Moving around the internet, keep coming back to preseason ratings. AP and Coaches polls have Boise State in the top ten.

Interesting when I read what Peterson has to say about his players and the incoming recruits. Pretty much goes like this . . . . we don't look at what other schools do (for the most part). We study film and if we think that a young man fits our m/o we recruit him. Stars don't mean a lot to their coaches.

Peterson might be the best coach in college football. Yes, that includes Saban and others. These Blue Carpet Boys keep looking for the next fight on the schedule. They seem to be the kind of players that will walk across the street to get into the fight.

Here is hoping that the talk some of our players are putting out for all to see is truly this group of young athletes true feelings now residing in Athens.

Many of us did not like what we witnessed last football season. Just not right, especially with the talent that we had and still have.

This coming season will have as many eyes on the coaches as the players. If a coach cannot coach'em up, then move along.

It will be interesting to me to see how close Bobo is to Richt during the game on the sidelines. Last season, Bobo got closer and closer to Richt toward the end of the season.

Sometimes body language can tell you a bunch.

Go Dawgs!! Coach'em up!!

Buc don't know if you have seen this but this is CFN's final guess as to the end of the year rankings......LSU winning it all.....why I don't take much stock in preseason or predicted final rankings........after all CFN predicted we would be #3 last year......

1. LSU 11-1
The Spring Call: The simplified offense will be just good enough to get by a tough first half of the season, but Alabama will drop a hammer at home in the national game of the year. The Tigers will be off to the SEC Championship and will win the title and will be off to the national title … but it won’t always be pretty. It’ll take Death Valley wars against Florida and Arkansas, along with the season opener against Oregon in Dallas, to get into the position to win it all.

2. Oklahoma 11-1
The Spring Call: The Sooners are always good for a mysterious clunker, possibly at Kansas State, but the schedule works out well. A loss at Florida State will knock them off their preseason No. 1 spot, but that will be it for the rest of the regular season as they roll through the slate until a wild shootout at Oklahoma State. OU will survive and will go on to the national title.

3. Oregon 11-1
The Spring Call: Oregon might have to replace several starters, but the talent level is higher. The key parts are back on offense to rip everyone apart again, but the key to the season could come right away facing LSU in Dallas with the winner being cemented in the top three all year. The Pac-12 slate works out well with winnable road games at Arizona, Colorado, and Washington before the North showdown against Stanford.

4. Alabama 10-2
The Spring Call: Everything will be in place to win the national title, but the Tide will run into a fired up Florida team in Gainesville. Mississippi State, with a scrimmage against UT Martin the week before to rest up, will come up with a huge home win the week after Bama beats LSU.

5. Florida 10-2
The Spring Call: The Gators will lose at South Carolina and won’t get past LSU in Death Valley, but they’ll pull off the biggest win in the early part of the Will Muschamp era in a battle with Alabama, they’ll get by Auburn on the road, and they’ll have everything in place in the season finale against Florida State.

6. Boise State 11-1
The Spring Call: It all comes down to yet another statement-making season opener. Georgia will be desperate and will come up with the win in Atlanta, and then the Broncos will roll from there with the three toughest games – Nevada, Air Force, and TCU – at home. No, Fresno State won’t beat Boise at home.

7. TCU 11-1
The Spring Call: TCU will be rebuilding, there are plenty of dangerous games against teams like Air Force and San Diego State on the road, but none of it will matter. The Horned Frogs will be great once again and will rebound in a hurry, and then will come the showdown of showdowns on the blue turf. Boise State will come through with the Mountain West winner to ruin the Horned Frog dream season.

8. South Carolina 9-3
The Spring Call: Even with Stephen Garcia’s issues, this will still be everyone’s hot team coming into the season … and it’ll clunk early on at Georgia. The Gamecocks will start sneaking back into the SEC race before losing at Mississippi State and at Arkansas. The win over Florida in the SEC finale won’t be enough to win the East, but the respect will be there with a win over the Gators to get into the top ten.

9. Ohio State 10-2
The Spring Call: The suspensions and the drama will be a problem at some point. Without all the issues, the Buckeyes would have had the make-up to run the table, but going to Nebraska when everyone comes back will be an inconsistent loss, and yeah, here’s the early call … Michigan wins at home. (Fine, so the pick might change in a huge flip-flop.)

10. Oklahoma State 9-3
The Spring Call: The offense will keep on rolling even without offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen, and it’ll show in firefights against Arizona, Tulsa, and Texas A&M early on. Back-to-back road

ogredawg, looking at a couple of finishes there in the top ten. Boise State at number six after a loss to UGA in Atlanta. My question is . . . where is UGA if CFN is thinking Atlanta belongs to us. That kind of ranking rankles me. Know that we have South Carolina, Florida, Mississippi State, Auburn and others down the road. Supposing that we are not ranked because we are expected to lose to one or more of the above mentioned. What does that say for Boise State and their schedule? If you play a weaker schedule, win most of those games and you finish higher in the standings and get a BCS bowl, don't like it. Did hear somewhere today that there was a suit being brought to end the BCS rulings and go to a playoff format. That will be interesting.

Interesting thoughts on LSU. If their coach loses that damn rabbits foot, they could have some serious problems. My thinking is that Zach Mettenberger is going to be their number one quarterback before the season is over, or even half over. When he first came to UGA, must admit that I was not overly impressed, that has changed a bit. Zach is a gamer. Think he had a 80 yard TD pitch in the Spring game.

I really like what I see in Tuscaloosa, only problem there in my opinion is filling the void left at quarterback. Richardson is all that, will be an outstanding pro carrying the pigskin. Richardson will probably carry for 1500 or more this year. Bama is loaded, Saban being Saban is just not saying much.

Appears that they are picking Florida over UGA in JAX. Muschamp pulls that off against us his first year at the helm . . . . . it won't be pretty in Athens.

Picking us to win over South Carolina, brother, I pray for that win. SS walks out of Athens with a win . . . . . it won't be pretty in Athens.

Personally think that Mississippi States coach is of the same caliber as Boise States coach. Mullen left Urban Meyer and the Florida program went to heck in a hand basket. He will coach at another major college if he desires. If Mississippi State beats UGA . . . . it won't be pretty in Athens.

Never really liked polls, there are however a couple of polls over the years that I have come to respect. Will chat about them soon.

Thanks for posting this orgredawg, was beginning to feel a bit pent up, needed to say something, been quiet for a couple of hours . . . . . :)

born2bAdawg, it would really upset my apple cart if Muschamp and Dolittle take us down. Not trying to be ugly, (maybe a little) don't like first year/second year coaches, taking over programs that have fallen a bit, beating us. Hard for me to not swallow the apple core. We have had the same head coach for a long time. No more 6-7. :)

This might be the best schedule we will have for years to come. . . . . no excuses.

Sep. 3 Boise State (in Atlanta)
Sep. 10 South Carolina
Sep. 17 Coastal Carolina
Sep. 24 at Ole Miss
Oct. 1 Mississippi State
Oct. 8 at Tennessee
Oct. 15 at Vanderbilt
Oct. 22 OPEN DATE
Oct. 29 Florida (in Jacksonville)
Nov. 5 New Mexico State
Nov. 12 Auburn
Nov. 19 Kentucky
Nov. 26 at Georgia Tech
