I agree to an extent wlayton. 3-4 years to produce a premier, top level D is my expectation. Two years to produce a good D. Next year I expect to see "good". This past year was something short of mediocre.

Boy, that last sentence is an understatement. Imo, that D he was left with wasn't as talented as most think. Fast yes, physical, NO. Needs several players and DEPTH, especially front 3 and at safety. They should be better this year but have my doubts....we'll see.

Both sides of the ball are going to be tested coaching wise next season.

Muschamp vs Bobo . . . . mismatch.

Weiss vs Grantham . . . .interesting.

Much will be decided in JAX.

That game might be the homecoming game for KS. Just a thought or two.

You are probably right. That game may seal CMR's fate. Still would rather go after a proven HC rather than KS though. I'd double Gary Patterson's salary and his whole staff's if they would come to Athens. NOT going to happen though......TCU is now a big fish in a small pond with automatic BCS invites waiting for them every year, why would he leave?

Hey Buc, see where Whittle may be going to UCONN (haven't seen anything lately)? Sure wanted him as our OC.

wlayton, with you on Gary Patterson. Know at some point that KS is going to leave Saban. Not on bad terms at all, but there comes a time when the umbilical cord has to be cut. How he would do as the leader, don't have a clue. Someone will step up quickly and nab him, that is a fact.

UConn will be a stepping stone for Whipple. Man knows football. Leaves Miami because of head coaching change. This is the usual direction when the head coach is relieved of his post, all leave.

would be nervous with KS too, but something tells me that he will be our coach in 2012.

we can say one thing about him though: He WILL put a wall around the state in recruiting and he WILL put more emotion and energy into it than does Richt.
