There is a time and place for all things . . . .
Please, someone explain to me why Richt is going to keep Mike Bobo as Offensive Coordinator. Did say Offensive Coordinator, not Quarterback Coach.
Folks, here is the answer.
MB calls the same plays, the same way, in the same situations that Richt does. I do a lot of recording, it goes way, way back. Nothing, absolutely nothing has changed since MB "supposedly" took over the play calling responsibilites from Richt. If you have taped the games, roll them back or spin them forward from Day 1 under Richt until the last play against University of Central Florida.
As sadlerdawg has said on numerous occasions . . . "nothing has changed" and that is the truth. What does that say to me . . . Richt can't improve on something that he has done before or would do in the same situation that MB is in at that particular point in a game.
sadlerdawg suggests that Richt and Bobo do something different, whether spread, pistol or what ever we want to call it . . . . . just get AWAY FROM THE SAME OFFENSIVE GAME PLAN. If you have recorded the games, you know UGA is the most predictable offense not only in the SEC, they are the same team that you don't need to scout, if you are looking for offensive traits. Said it before, pull up year before last, they are doing exactly what they did then.
Steve Spurrier loves our game plans. Now he has the talent and that speaks for itself. SC will get better and SS looks forward to playing in Atlanta for the SEC Championship. Spurrier does not fear Richt and his recruiting efforts are paying off. For the record, he took the Gamecocks into the Swamp and we know what happened there. Neutral field in JAX, what?
Now Richt is going to come back and make things right. What that says to me is this . . . why were you willing to let our program continue to slip until . . . . a new Athletic Director came on board. Would anything have changed if our previous AD had not stepped into the red bloomers?
At this point Richt, I feel that you are stealing from UGA. Why do I say that?
Richt knows that he is at the end of the trail. He had a damn good run, both in wins (he likes to allude to those when the seat gets hot) and the payoff for his time. Won't press that issue too far. Although, from the end of the 2010 season on I am looking at dollars and cents and return on investment.
Last shot. Cut the losses, move on. My opinion.
