RabunDog do you think that head coach is a needed change?

Not trying to put anyone on the spot, I say we need a head coach change. Down year can be expected from time to time, think our history is beginning to build as one of the weaker teams in the SEC. All I have to go on is players comments and on the field results.

A lot of the folks posting are saying one or two more years. Where does that come from? Are these posters guessing or privileged to information that others are not? Is this a stance of compassion or belief in the Richt system?

Some can play to the middle of a controversy, same as many of our politicians have done for years and years, usually nothing good comes from those that are afraid to take a stance.

Yes I want Richt to be our head coach . . . .
No I don't want Richt back as head coach . . . .

One more question that I think needs to be asked . . . .

Why is Richt supposedly on the hot seat?

averagedawg, losing to UCF was not good for me. My daughter graduated from UCF and she got a really good education from a really good school. I knew that we were in for a battle, but based on the different talent levels of the two schools, could never have predicted what happened. Get some good natured ribbing along with . . . . what is going on in Athens?

Since the loss to UCF, Central Florida has really reaped the rewards in the recruiting department. The kids in that program laid the ground work for UCF in the future. Too bad that it had to come at our expense, but what the heck, just another day at the office.

UCF and South Florida in the next two to five years are going to be names that we will see often on the ESPN conglomerate and other media outlets. Lots of talent down this way that will make the pickings tougher in Central Florida for UGA. Guess we need to find a way to keep the talent in Georgia and stop the successful raids from Auburn, Florida and Alabama.

Also appears that LSU is beside itself with the Mettenberger enrollment. Many think that LSU will be the cream of the crop in the SEC next season. Hope the young man learned his lesson and wish him the very best.

Several young players out there that need to sign on with UGA by the deadline. Appears that the folks involved with UGA recruiting are putting in the overtime hours. That is a good thing. In my years of running a business I found that I had to keep my nose to the grindstone if I wanted results.

We are not the only ones that think change is necessary

bulldawg36869, that article is coming from folks that are talking about two coaches for the most part. UCLA and UGA. California to Georgia, does not seem to be nit picking to me, lots of miles between the two states. There were others mentioned, but the majority of the focus was on UCLA and UGA.

Two schools with a lot of tradition, players names that many recognize all across the country.

UGA would not have been mentioned if our school was not important to the college scene across America. Boise State coming to Atlanta to strap on UGA. Sure hope they did not watch the UCF game, they probably did.

Some want to look ahead and hope that with one recruiting year with several players that have stars listed by their names, our program will magically be on top again. Maybe they are right, we will look closely at the names that do commit to UGA between now and February.

bulldawg36869 thanks for posting in this thread. I have gathered from your past posts that you don't follow, speaking ones mind means a lot when concerned about things that are close to all of us.

For those that disagree, remember this, when we post or start threads, the history belongs to all of us. Disagreeing is a Constitutional right, and in some cases that finds its way to COLLEGE FOOTBALL. I find these truths to be self evident.

YES Buc - I think we do need a new HC - have supported him from the start - but after the last few seasons and looking back - I now don't necessarily believe that it was his good coaching that had the early success - it was his coordinators coaching that achieved that success

I admire cmr as a man - not as a coach

He's on the hot seat because he makes a lot of money and the last few years have been poor on and off the field

I think that MACK is already making plans for a change - earlier when cmr was mentions for Colorado and Miami - MACK wasted no time and contacted Muschamp/others about coming to UGA as the new HC - MACK will not hesitate to make a change this year - I really think that cmr will resign to pursue a mentoring type endeavor - similar to Bowden

It's time for a change - the game has passed him by
