Wow, did the wind direction change?

Or the nay sayers taking a wait and see back seat? This team just beat 2 programs that are not very good right now. Agreed KY should be a good test, but this team is different from the start of the season and still finding itself. All positives now. The maturity and execution is improving and you are right all remaining games are winnable. The losses were painful but looking at them we were in there and take away a few mistakes and we would be at the top of the east. The observation I'm trying to make is that losses breed depression and searching for rationalization, CMR and staff become the target. So IF UGA wins out, will the same contempt for the staff still be there? My approach (just mine) is never give up, never loose support for your team, and recognize that reality is not what you want it to be sometimes. Win, lose, or draw a dawg till the last breath!

footnote: haveing to endure a SC fan this week, so my response have been, gotta let you win one every 9 years or so cause you won't play us anymore if we don't.

My thoughts on the coaching staff remain the same, and I have posted as such. I'm happy for the wins, and really hope we can win out, but I still hold the staff responsible for bungling the first half of the season.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

oledawg, just one question. What are your feelings on WM being released and CTG being hired?

I am happy for the team. My long term view of CMR is still the same: we have had this in the past where a game or two we actually hit some RB's outta the backfield or get some simple stuff to the TE's, or roll the QB out for safe throws to move the chains.

The problem will be, somewhere down the road we will have that game where we do 7 step drop, wait 5 seconds for WR's to get open 25 yards down dield, and then get sacked b/c we have no RB releasing for a nice little 7 yard gain. Then we'll look up and wonder why tech or UF or somebody beat us 34-13.

THAT is the problem. The offense should have clicked from day 1 as we had 9 starters back from last year, and QB hasn't killed us in ANY game.

The play offensive calling should have been from DAY 1 assuming that the defense doesn't have the correct personnel and will need time, thus fewer 20 yard plays where we end up 3 and out. We needed to be roll out passing, RB screens, drags to the TE's to keep the defense off the field.

BulldogShannon, several good points you make.

UF has kicked our butts too often. The main play that we have been unable to stop . . . flat pass to running back. Kill us every year with that play.

With a competent Defensive Coordinator and his crew, the 3/4 should be able to stop that particular play, hands down. WM could never solve the problem.
