The only thing that counts in football is the ratio of points scored to points allowed, and the ratio of \"W\"s to \"L\"s. I do think that probably three or four teams will go undefeated this year. (It seems like that happens every year.) If that happens, we will be left out of the big dance because of where we are starting the year in the popularity polls.
Typically teams that start a new QB (particularly one who hasn't played a single snap of varsity ball) do somewhat poorly until the kid gets some games under him - hence our poor starting place in the polls. (Remember Matthew Stafford's first year at the position? I think he threw as many INTs as TDs. Maybe more - he REFUSED to heave it out of the end zone.) Realistically I think we are an 8-5 . . . maybe even a 7-6 team this year. But that won't keep me from my prediction of 14-0, undefeated and number 2 next January!!!!
