BTW, to comment on yours and wlayton's family rivalries, my father, mother, brother and sister and their married families are all diehard Seminoles. I am the true Dawg fan, the outcast from my family, so to speak. I really enjoy the rare occasions we get to play them--LOVED the 02 Sugar Bowl.

Hey sadlerdawg, my other son-in-law is a big Seminole.....I'm ok with them, actually went there my freshman year to play golf for them. Plus, can't be all bad if CMR came from there. Yeah I pull for the Noles, especially when they play uf.......but I would pull for the Taliban if they play uf, so.....moot point, I guess.

Also believe CL will not change his mind unless CMR or Bobo isn't there. He has a great connection with CMR with the common ground in their beliefs and faith. Plus he wants to follow MS to the next level and playing in a pro style offense will be what he will need to get there.....ie.....MS versus TT....one will make it, one won't (take a guess )

AM is going to have a DECIDED advantage on CL once he gets on campus. AM will have been in the system for over two years and believe because of that, they will want to redshirt CL. Watched film on CL and thought he looked very good but does not have a MS arm.....not even close. BUT he may be more accurate and believe he also may turn out to be a better college QB than MS. Believe MS was MADE for the NFL.


wlayton the above paragraph is probably the closest to what is going on and has gone on in Athens that I have read in a while. I read a lot, everything that I can find on UGA, the old eyes take note.

All of these young men come out of high school and think that they have \"it.\" Some do, but not too many number 34's come along year after year.

If I read CL the way I think I do, he would accept a Red Shirt and the things that he will accomplish after that could be what legends are made of. My reason for saying that . . . . it appears to me that Coach Richt is wearing a different hat this year, maybe different than he has worn since becoming head coach.

I don't think that CMR has promised CL anything other than a chance to play and maybe play early. That playbook is a lot tougher than running the 40, it takes time and patience and dedicated athletes.

Greatest arms coming out of college don't guarantee a damn thing at the next level. Also, no doubt in my mind that AM will not only share what he has learned, he will pass it along to CL or whom ever without a single thought of protecting his position. AM does not live in fear, and I think that I see the same attitude with CL. Just a terrific football position for us as fans to watch and enjoy. What do I mean by the last statement . . . . UGA FOOTBALL TEAM becomes a TEAM AGAIN.


I still cringe when I look at tape of games last year and the finger pointing, guys that were not playing team ball. Look where it got some pretty darn good athletes in the recent NFL draft. When you get close to the number of 100 before having a player drafted . . . . something is wrong.
