So, next year we have a seasoned QB running the show, and all the speed in the world on the edges??? This is shaping up nicely, veeerrrry nicely.

Sounds good so far - read somewhere that we will only have about 14/15 scholarships this year - that's not many - hope we make them count

Looking back at the athletes from the SEC that have gone on to the league. Found this to be interesting. Many on this board have said for some time that we have and have had quality athletes at UGA. The numbers below certainly show that we get our fair share of quality athletes and send them on to the league.

Brings this thought to my mind . . . a lot of us have wondered/questioned certain aspects of our coaching. With the turnover in coaching at UGA this year, wonder what the next few years have in store for the young men that choose UGA. There is no doubt in my mind that the coaching staff has stepped up considerably.

Lifted from David Hale's column.
Delivering on Draft Day

It's not likely Georgia will have a player go in the first round this year, although as many as six or seven players could go in later rounds. I'll have more on that tomorrow and Thursday.

But I did find this note over at Chris Low's SEC blog pretty interesting. Here's the breakdown on how many first-round picks have come from each school during the past decade:

Georgia -- 10
Tennessee -- 10
Florida -- 9
LSU -- 9
Arkansas -- 6
Auburn -- 6
Ole Miss -- 6
South Carolina -- 4
Alabama -- 3
Vanderbilt -- 2
Kentucky -- 1

Of course, Florida and Tennessee will be adding to those totals this year, so the list will look a good bit different as we preview the 2011 draft. But still... producing an average of a first-round pick every year has to be something recruits find awfully appealing.

S. Hickman in Lake Wales, Fla., writes: Who in your opinion is a better quarterback, John Brantley or Aaron Murray? Who has more raw talent in your humble opinion?

Chris Low: I don’t know about my humble opinion. But my honest opinion is that Brantley is a much more polished passer right now who’s at least played some in the SEC. If you were going to pick between one of those two to win a game right now, I’d take Brantley in a heartbeat. But Murray also throws the ball well and is more versatile when it comes to pulling the ball down and running. Give Murray a season in the SEC, and I may feel differently. And to be fair, Brantley hasn’t taken any meaningful snaps in this league. But he throws as pretty a pass as you’ll see and also has an NFL-like release.

Going to be an interesting year. Go Dawgs!
