Just read this on georgiadogs

\"ATHENS, Ga. --- University of Georgia redshirt sophomore safety Makiri Pugh will transfer to another institution in order to seek more playing time according to an announcement Wednesday by Bulldog head coach Mark Richt.

A graduate of Independence High School in Charlotte, N.C., Pugh was redshirted in 2008 and played in nine games during the 2009 season recording two tackles.

“We are appreciative of Makiri’s contributions during his two years at Georgia,” said Richt. “We understand and support his decision to transfer and wish him great success the remainder of his career.”

Hope this gives us another scholarship available for 2011 - we only had like 14/15 - maybe now we have 16/17

Nice \"trade\". Maybe we can turn it into a \"1st rounder\". (thought appropriate since this is NFL draft day :silly: )

At the time UGA signed Pugh, it really looked like a good get for us. And maybe it was, thanks to Pugh for coming to UGA.

What this tells me is the competition in Athens has moved up another rung on the ladder. Don't mean this to be ugly, however it is a good sign for UGA.

I agree Buc - think we're seeing some house cleaning - might be more before it's all said and done

Thank Pugh for giving it a good try and wish him the best

Not unexpected. Looking forward to the season.

Also, Nick Williams being named #1, that is good news in my way of thinking. Jakar Hamilton appears to be the cats whiskers, oops, dogs whiskers and has received a lot of press this spring.

Folks, we may finally have what all of us have been looking for, competition. First class competition, can't help but enjoy this. This is going to be a solid team to watch.
