BigDawg10. I like what you have posted. So, you and I (and others) can have an open discussion as to why LeMay might not enroll at UGA.

If AM has a good year, would that be any different than say Brantley staying at UF, waiting for T to graduate?

Another question . . . .
Do you feel that any freshman after being on campus for a short time understands what is involved in being number 1?

You and I can have some serious discussion here . . . . I would like that, and I am sure you would also . . . .

IMO, I think wether AM has a good yr or an average yr. That CMR will stick with AM and red shirt Lemay. I cant see CMR starting a true freshmen QB. when AM will still be in his 2nd yr. just IMO.

LeMay will come to UGA no matter what AM does. First of all he thinks he can compete NOW after he visited 3 spring practice, second, he loves UGA and most importantly, he and CMR have the same beliefs, values and philosophies that solidifies the committment.

Oh.......and he will be redshirted.

Buc...... You make a great point with Brantly(also D.J). I can't believe both of those guys stuck around there programs. It is very rare in todays college football for a kid to have that kind of talent and not to be able to come in and compete for the starting job. In my opinion if AM has a good year as a RFR, Lamay may fill like he want play until he is a JR. I think it really comes down to how bad he want to be a Dawg, or how bad he wants to start his freshman year. A few of the schools he has offers from will promise him that opportunity. Imho I think this kid will need a Redshirt year. Not many kids can come straight out of HS and start as a true freshman in the SEC. That position has to much to learn to be productive as a freshman. We all remember how much Stafford struggled as a freshman, sure he had his moments, but he still struggled. This kid is not a MS.

Buc this is just my opinion.

Big Dawg10, you make some very good points. One with which I totally agree with is DJ. That young man had all the talent needed for college football. Frankly, one of my favorite UGA QB's of all time.

There is much to be said when a QB like Stafford chooses UGA over any other school in the country. Comes out of UGA and is first pick in the NFL Draft. Everyone knew that Stafford would take over the position, huge talent, lots of ambition. I am going to assume that the offensive coaching at UGA did help Matt along the trail.

If LeMay hitches his wagon to UGA, there is no predicting when he will lead the offense. First off he has to learn the system, and that is only part of the learning process.

Different receivers require different types of passes thrown in their direction. Getting to know your teammates is probably the most important thing a young, talented QB has to do. Easy to see that Christian has a grip on that part of the game right now.

AM has a golden chance right now. He has not been named the starter as far as I know, but one can assume. AM is a leader, he has talent, most of all he is familiar with the coaches and the system that UGA uses.

Nothing I would like better than knowing that Christian is a Dawg and if anything should happen to AM, he is there. One never knows when that injury bug is going to show its ugly face. AM went through that in Tampa while in high school. Came back from a broken bone and led Tampa Plant to the State Championship (same year). With an injury such as AM had, lots of athletes give up the game of football. He has no fear, and if CL decides to attend UGA, AM will be the first to greet him and start the process of helping him with how football is played at UGA.

Big Dawg10, you are so right about these young athletes leaving early. The sad part of that is that less than 10% or so ever get past training camp in the NFL. Personally, I have problems with agents getting their greedy hands on these young and very impressionable athletes. It comes down to a money grab.

wlayton makes a solid point. CL is one of those athletes than can do and will do. He has the parts needed to be a successful QB in the SEC, yes, hate to say it, any other conference also. Terrific day for UGA if CL signs.

Just read this on georgiadogs

\"ATHENS, Ga. --- University of Georgia redshirt sophomore safety Makiri Pugh will transfer to another institution in order to seek more playing time according to an announcement Wednesday by Bulldog head coach Mark Richt.

A graduate of Independence High School in Charlotte, N.C., Pugh was redshirted in 2008 and played in nine games during the 2009 season recording two tackles.

“We are appreciative of Makiri’s contributions during his two years at Georgia,” said Richt. “We understand and support his decision to transfer and wish him great success the remainder of his career.”

Hope this gives us another scholarship available for 2011 - we only had like 14/15 - maybe now we have 16/17
