Buc, all the talent in the world will not replace hunger.
Look at UNC basketball this year.

averagedawg, you are so right. Reminds me a bit of our recent past on the football field, and I know that is what you are referring to. Time for you to put those cleats on and join the staff in Athens. You and sadlerdawg are always to the point and . . . . right. Think that the new hires will change and probably already have changed the complacency that was hanging around UGA. Personally think that we are in for a surprise at the starting 11 on both sides of the ball. What you think?
After posting the above came upon this . . .

Afternoon, With start of spring practice less thatn a week off the question of who will be the starting QB come Sept.4. Most of the people here in Athens feel it is AM's job to lose. He has the tools and talent. CMB is going to let all 3 QB's work with first \"O\" my feeling to see who will be AM's backup. Much like RS moving to LB it will force LG to switch to a another position to get PT. This may play out until fall just to keep the juice in summer workouts. Going to be fun to watch!
Have a safe weekend ! Go Dawgs

Late afternoon quote from David Hale. Proves to me just how bad the DB coach was from the get go. Coach Richt, WM was your hire. We are glad that you came to your senses before it was too late.
“It’s a whole lot different, especially with the footwork that Coach (Scott) Lakatos is teaching us,\" Rambo said of working with his new defensive backs coach. \"Most of the people in the NFL run the same thing as Coach Lakatos is teaching us. It’s a whole different footwork thing from Coach Martinez.”
And not to bash Willie Martinez, but here's how Branden Smith discussed learning that new footwork:
“Backpedaling, coming out of the breaks, turning – those are different,\" Smith said. \"The footwork that Coach Lakatos is teaching us right now, I’ve done it in high school, so it’s nothing new and it’s easier to learn.”
My guess is that WM paid more attention to the receivers EYES. High school coaches teaching this system, . . . . makes one wonder why WM was residing in Athens. Sad . . .

Buc.... I'm just glad he is doing it somewhere else other than at UGA! I think Lakatos will make Rambo, and Smith studs!
