UGAFanDavid, guess the site you noted proves once again that the talent is and has been in Athens. I think that the talent in Athens now is as good as it was when Stafford was the QB.

We have folks that can catch the ball, backs that can do more than play the game of 3 yards and a cloud of dust. If the coaching on the offensive side of the ball utilizes the talent we have, this could be a team that scores a lot of points. Still crossing my fingers that Coach Richt DOES have more hands on with the offensive side of the ball this season.

Of course we all know that the defense is not going to be scored on this year so a field goal or a touchdown should be all that is needed. (TIC)

AM was a leader in high school, took control when he was on the field. Orson Charles knows. Expect to see the same from Murray wearing the Red and Black. As averagedawg said in this thread . . . Hopefully, we get some leadership.

I can't wait to see UGA do what they do best. Get in the I-formation, run it down there throat, then hit A.J. deep on a play-action pass! By the end of the year AM will be a very good QB. If the defence plays the way CTG says they will, THIS season could be special. I can't wait for Sept!

Go Dawgs!

Playing in a pro-style offense, I-formation or any formation other than the \"stuff\" that the 10th Street Gang runs pretty much plays to what we have at UGA. Another reason our QB's can move on to the NFL without special tutoring at the next level. Noticed that GT might be losing a couple of QB's, maybe this year.

Many of these young men are entering schools in my opinion without looking into what type of tutelage that they will receive. Many if not most of these athletes are looking for playing time right away. Coming from high school where they were BMOC they expect the same thing at the next level. Doesn't work that way. I really liked the way it was done in the \"old days\" . . . much like it was done in high school . . . . Varsity and Junior Varsity. When I was in school it was called Varsity and B Team. Back in the day it was the same with the universities.

I watched FSU when Coach Richt was calling the plays and formations for Coach BB and will say this . . . there will always be a bag of tricks that Coach Richt will have at his disposal to use when it is least expected. CMR was uncanny when he would use one of these plays. However, for the most part, he had that offense line up and play pro-style football. Check the records on the offenses CMR ran while in Tallahassee, also look at the stats when he was calling the plays for UGA.

With the staff in place for CMR, there can be no doubt that all of us are really looking forward to the upcoming season. That is as it should be. Can't speak for all here on this board, however do know that many of us had started to hang our heads. We knew we had the athletes but there was one thing missing . . . . . any thoughts?

Might surprise some but I will answer what I think the problem was the last few years. Coach Richt got sidetracked somehow, the Gainesville Midland fell off of the tracks. Now the engineer needs to get the fireman to start shoveling coal again and not let the engine lose its steam, ever again. We have the athletes, we have the coaching, we have the AD and the school behind this program . . . no excuses.
