I could care less what kind of scheme we run on defense. The only thing I want to see is a bunch of red helmets running all over the field hitting people and WRAPPING UP with a lot of ATTITUDE. We have the athletes we just need the attitude and fundamental coaching. I am not worried about the defense at all. I was pissed off when I heard that MB was going to start calling plays. I have tried to give him the benefit of the doubt these last couple of years, but I lost all confidence in his ability to manage a game against USC this year. Our D played hard in that game and had been on the field all night. Late in the third quarter our D needed a breather and we needed to run some time off the clock. MB called three straight passes that were not high percentage passes and punted. I would like to see this former DAWG succeed, but I just don't think it will happen. He can stick around if we want to be respectable. If we want to win NC's then we need another person calling plays( CMR). I can't wait to see what the future holds for the DAWG'S. I am very excited about next year!!!!!

I don't understand the hate towards MB. Our O scored at least 30 in all games besides five. We put up 41 points on USC so I can't say that three and out really matters. If you also look at previous years our O hasn't been the problem its the D. Perfect example is when we have to score 40+ points in a game to win by a margin of only 3-10. MB keep up the good work!

Plain and simple for 2011...WIN

I'm with you. MB -if there IS a problem-is NOT the problem. Unlike the DC for Richt, MB is just a proxy of Richt. Richt could bring in Vince Lomardi to run offense and it will still be the same plays called.

Richt will not fire MB as that is a condemnation of Richt himself.

Richt/MB do frustrate me sometimes, (like calling three straight fade routes from our own 10 yrd line), and like being up 4 on SC two years ago with 4:00 minutes left in the game and we start a drive at our own 15 yrd line and it's three straight passes. Thank God SC fumbled going in to score or we would have lost that one.

If Richt would just consistently be 50-50 run pass I would be happy. However, I disagree with what someone said earlier about running on 1st down 80% of the time. That will not cut it in the SEC. You will be looking at 3rd and 7 all day. What I would do is call more TE passes, and more curls to the RB out of the backfield on 1st down--especially with 8 in the box. If someone like Carlton Thomas gets it in space with 8 men crowding, that 8 man in the box will stop pretty fast.

I think the two biggest problems we have had the past three years or so is:

1. Defensive aggression and fundamentals. ((When crompton comes out and says he knew what we were gonna do defensively-that is a problem. I actually feel that was the moment Richt knew WM would not be back.
2. Special Teams.

Here is hoping that the new hires and returning coaches find that cohesiveness that is so important to the overall play of the football team.

As some remember, last year there were a couple of sideline incidents that were a good indication the coaches were not on the same page. Also, think that carried over to the players on the field. Finger pointing and second guessing. Sorry, it USUALLY filters down from the top.

A lot of, if not most of us have played football at different levels and know when the overall program is working or missing a cog.

It appears that Coach Richt has done his due diligence and finally put together a group that can lead the UGA football team back from some of the \"trying\" moments of the past couple of years. Change was needed, most of us asked for it, we got it.

Go Dawgs!
