OSD, in CMR's system, if he has an experienced QB, he will allow him to change the play at the line of scrimmage. I feel sure that MANY times on 1st down Bobo may have called a running play but Cox saw there were 8 in the box and checked to a pass. Not sure we can assume much of anything if a seasoned QB is running our offense.......he has the ok to change the play based on what the D is giving him.

Btw......we could have run any play against GT, their D was worse than ours.....terrible at best.

LOL, Yeah, your right wasnt thinkin about checkin down out of the play, but That LG play against Fla makes you wonder LOL, and Tech did make us look good!!!

Yes, Groh is a good pick up for them. I wonder how a 3-4 Def will work against Techs Off next yr?

Great question OSD. I personally think it will work very well, especially if the DT's can get ANY penetration at all. If you remember the first half of the 2008 game, we were playing 4 LB's (granted we had 4 DL as well) and shut them down. I noticed on the FIRST play of the 2nd half we went to three LB's and started getting hammered. Never understood why WM changed that when they did nothing against us in the first half. My point is, with the 4 LB's, we shut them down but again, believe we will need some penetration by the DT's. Just my opinion though.

Great question on the Tech thing. By the alignment in a 3-4, we will be much better on the wide stuff against Tech in 2010. Regardless of the boundary side they option to, we will have one extra guy in space compared to the 4-3.

The only potential problem will be the FB dive-the qucik dive. Until he gets three linemen who weigh 300+, we will probably be forced to play a 1 gap. That means on a qucik dive, IF we are in the gap opposite to where the FB dives, they could potentially bang 5-7 yards a pop out.

When that day comes we can start a 340LB NT and our ends are 300, then we can 2-gap them, therby three DLmen will block 6 holes and leaving 2 ILB and two safeties with no lead blcoker to knock them out, preventing the middle rushes.
