Coach Richt's message to the Bulldog nation

Your right! We do have a young team that needs experience. My only complaint is directed at the coaching staff. We are the University of Georgia and you can't tell me we don't have the talent to be competitive, trust me it's there. Yes we are young but we have the talent. Most of our problems are on the defense side of it and it's not the lack of talent. If your not tired of Martinez yet then you should pay more attention. This season is pretty much over for us as far as winning anything but right now is the time to get our young players some game time. We have a freshman quarterback that we highly recruited so lets get him ready. What do we have to loose? The only downside is that if Coach Richt doesn't do something drastic about our defensive UN-coordinator we made fall right back in the deep tracks we are setting this year. The fact is that most of the bulldog nation can see the problem but unfortunately we can't do anything about it. Someone has to step up and fix the problem. Throwing the ball down field to A.J. more than twice a game could help too. I know that's a little off topic but you don't throw a naked screen 3 yards behind the line when it's 3rd and 8.

Things are getting better. It has been a tough year and I want to just quietly sneak in like Lane Kiffin to get acclimated.

I wish my return were in better times. It is with a heavy heart I endure this football season. I did today read a blog at ajc.com that others are talking about Willie Martinez taking his bountiful talents elsewhere.

As a non- Georgia tax payer I hope they some how throw a ton of money at Muschamp to come back and be our coach in waiting. Keep Rodney Gardner happy because that man can recruit.

I would give Bobo a little more time, but I would show him the scene in Untouchables where Connery shoots the already dead guy outside the cabin.

It is documented here that I have not always been 100% in the Richt camp because he seemed too nice and the boys never seem hungry or angry. I think more people would agree with me now.

I want a (non-cheating) defense that plays outright angry......Hulk Hogan getting a divorce angry.

We can do better.

I agree with much of what you say ... except for Richt and the ramifications. Richt is a superlative OC, a great recruiter, and an almost perfect role model. As OC he made the best use of the talent on hand both - as individual players and as a team. His halftime adjustments were genius that put him on par with the likes of Monte Kiffen. In fact, imo, richt is a better OC than Myer (UF). Once M.Kiffen shows us how to kill the spread then UGA should have the dominant SEC offense. Should being a different thing than will. Keeping Bobo is moot. Richt is already 10x better than Bobo will ever be. By definition a Bobo offense can never be anything better than the second-best use of talent. Had Richt stayed as OC, added an administrative assistant to offset HC workload, and hired a top-notch DC then the Bulldogs would be headed to their third or fourth NCG this year. Instead ... we have ... hmmm ... well, nothing really except one big win against a non-BCS team.

Great post Swampdog. You are 100% right. People can argue against what you just said and show stats trying to prove that we have done big things over the last 3 or 4 years, but a victory over a highly overrated Hawaii is all we have done. We have had to much talent to not even play in the SEC championship game. CMR is the key factor in this equation. He has a lot of issues to address when this season is over. I just hope that somehow we are respectable the rest of the year so we can recruit those last couple pieces of the puzzle. We all know that the corner pieces are the coordinators though.

I am OK with getting rid of Bobo too.

I would gladly trade some role model points for some mean, nasty points. We have been out coached and out played for years now. We have too much talent.

I get sick of people saying the team is just young and needs experience. Other top tier programs dont have to deal with that, their down year is a 2-3 loss season, ours seems to wind up about a 5 loss season if we are lucky.

Youth is no excuse, the coaches just arent coaching them up, willie needs to be gone the day after our bowl game, if not sooner and bobo needs to either bench cox or devise a way to get green the ball more effectively.
